Dryed up to nothing

Colas seemed pretty fat. I grew 25 blue dream. Indoor hydro with 100 w hps and drip system with HG nutes. At about 8 weeks in i harvested becasue they were so fat, they were falling over. Trich were cloudy and seemed ready.

Dried in a low humidity room with a fan for 5 days and they are crunchy and light. Just put them in jars to see if they come back a little. Doubt anyone would even want this stuff at this point. Sucks......

What are the main reasons for this sort of thing?

I added gravity to this run too and don't know what happened.....

Drying always causes shrinking, 75% shrinkage is not uncommon. They should re- moisten from inner moisture in the jar, if not, add something to the jar to increase humidity - wet paper towel, orange slices, etc.

That's why you check your buds regularly while drying to prevent overdrying. Like desert said though, any fresh moisture retaining substance will bring some moisture back to the buds. Parsley, a fresh cut MJ leaf, any citrus fruit rine, etc

Re hydrated with mason jars and damp paper towel pieces on the lid. Worked well and turned out much better..

ya thats what i do when i have some good bud that gets dried out, just put it in a jar for a few hours with a moist piece of paper towel and its all moist and nuggety again :D
i dont leave it in there for more than a day tho im too scared of mold but thats only if its in a really hot area with with too much moisture for too long.

To prevent this you need to not dry at a low humidity, ive dryed at 20pct before and got exactly what your talking about. you cant exceed 55pct without risking mold however you can hold 45-55pct and what you will find is the plants will dry slower and hold their smell. the cure will even out their moisture and make them smell amazing. and yes adding something like a fan leaf to the jar will bring some moisture back, however you wont bring back all the smell and flavor lost in the low humidity dry.

after my first shitty dry i made a rubbermade dry box that would hold moisture in better, drilled a few holes and hung everything inside with a fan pulling air through slowly. put a humidistat inside and tryed to maintain 45pct, huge improvement. 50-55 is even better but your walking a thin line

Yes, definitely need to dry a little slower and try to preserve the freshness. Mold is such a risk, I had the window open and a fan on high circulating the room. Humidity here is in the 40's. It was dried to a crisp in 2 days. Not doing that again.
