Drying means letting the plant hang out and dry (drying from the outside working inwards) curing refers to placing the plant after it has been dried for a couple days into a glass jar or plastic bag to "sweat"(drying from the inside out) the moisture out from the center of the bud making it evenly dry...... If you just hang the plant up you are liable to get bud with dry snappy stems crispy outside and a wet green inside....and yes curing and aging the weed gives it it's nice smell and taste....=)

You have to make sure that you don't put too much air on it... once the stems feel like they will almost snap, but will give a bit... I like to move them to glass jars and then open the jars at least twice a day. If you put too much air on it, they will smell just like hay... if you see condensation inside the jar; either pour them out on newspaper or leave the jar open til it dries up... the drying and curing process should be done in a dark, reasonably dry place... 40% humidity is optimal for me... Hope this helps and good luck... oh, to answer your question... drying gets most of the water out of the plant, curing allows the flowers to develop its bouquet of smell and flavor. Happy blazin'!! :bigjoint:
