Drying at 60/60

Hey everyone. I've been drying the past 11 days in a tent, at 60° Fahrenheit, and 60% rh plus or minus 3°/3%rh. I sampled a bud and it tasted a little green, and smoked a litte harsh. Am I doing something wrong? I have a small fan blowing underneath the buds, not directly on them for circulation. They feel slightly moist, and very sticky, but it burnt fairly decent in a bowl. I don't want to be a nervous nelly, but I'm getting tired of over drying my herb. I have read everything under the sun about drying/curing and 60/60 seems to be the common consensus on being the sweet spot. I appreciate everyone's help and input, and don't want to beat a dead horse for the millionth time, but what does everyone do to make sure they're bud comes out tasting good time after time?

OK. Here's the secret:

1: Grow good organic herb in a well developed medium.

2: Flush it (flood the roots, hibernate the microbes, use osmotic differential, vase your plants, harvest after a dark period, tie up microbes with specific feeds, many different ways to block uptake)

3: Don't trim the shit. Dont break it down into retail size.

4:Soon as the leaves get crispy bag em in paper.

5: As soon as buds stop distributing moisture evenly bag them in Polyethylene Terephthalate. (you can use polyethylene but since turpentine breaks it down, you don't want crazy npc people saying they can taste plastic particles or some crap)

6: As soon as buds are fully smokable, bag in nylon. You can think about breaking buds down but still, don't trim. If your trichs are falling off from static electricity, you didn't follow step 1,you used chems.

7: Never use a jar until you feel the herb needs preservation, or is beginning to dry off. There's no meter for this, you just gotta know when to say "I better start sealing these dudes up tight". If you must trim to appease your customers outdated conceptions, now is the time. My customers save money, trim theirself and share the cookies they make.

8: Never use a brovida pack, simply don't open your jars all fucking day and your bud will maintain moisture for a year. If it doesn't, you didn't follow step #1..

That last step is a pet peeve based on reality, I'll smash buds to shit and kick em around on the floor, play tennis with the damn things before I leave a lid off a jar for more than a few seconds. The entire purpose of jars is long term storage without a humidor. Dont fuck it up with a bro pack, this plant is not tobacco.

Turn the exhaust fan down or off as much as possible. After trimming I use a cardboard box or a few paper bags. The extra air exchange will dry it out.

Exhaust fan has been off because it was lowering my rh to much. It will be 15 days tonight and they are still a little moist, and a litte green tasting still. Smoothness has improved though.

I am in the same boat, nearing the end of my first grow and the bud is looking legit and I don't want to screw it up with my abysmal RH. So I bought 2 of the Herbsnow dryers. Harvest is still a few weeks out so I haven't got around to using it yet, but there are plenty of posts on instagram and facebook exclaiming the effectiveness of this product. If you can afford it, I would give it a shot on your next grow.

Midnight, whats the scoop bro?
Can you put a temp/rh meter in there to give me the working temp and RH it produces? Going to make my own, lol.

From what Ive heard, tests have come back that the Terps and THC is actually higher when dryed in this thing.

There no way you can grab a de-humidifier and get the RH down to 40-45%? I've personally found ~10 days drying time to be the sweet spot. If it were me in your shoes, I'd cut the buds off the branches and set them on screens/drying racks and let them sit like that for another 2-3 days until they're crispy on the outside.

Grab yourself a tiny hygrometer for each of your jars to make sure the jars aren't getting too humid. A good cure will solve all of your problems and in my experience it's a lot easier to cure properly with a hygrometer telling you when your jars are getting too humid. 59% Boveda packs work well if they end up getting too dry for some reason or another.

You'll be fine my man, you got this!

How did that bad cat work for you? I'm having some serious drying issues from a lot of rain lately and wife hates me drying in our bedroom. So either I find a new wife or figure out another drying way.
