Drying help

Hey guys first grow here I've done a really good job on my plants from 4 I'm going to get well over a pound the only mistake I think I've made is now with the drying

I pulled the plants and cut off each branch and trimmed alot of the fan leaves off as I heard it's easier to do a fair amount of trimming before it's dry. I have an aircon unit putting cold air into the tent to slow the drying and I'm at around 55-60% rh but the buds smell like hay. It's only the 3rd day today so potentially am just smelling an abundance of chlorophyll is there anything else I can do to extend drying time will just dry the whole plants next time.

Being a dry trimmer who has never trimmed my weed wet, I would not know if the process itself leads to a little bit of this scent and if it is normal or not...but in my experience, hay smelling tweedz has been the result of either a fan blowing on my shit or harvesting too early.

If you're looking to extend the drying time, get your temp and humidity close to 60/60, water the plant a day or two before you chop and then hang the entire plant after removing the shitty leaves.

I live in a dry climate so I hang mine in a cardboard box with some frozen jugs of water and a few slats cut in for air circulation.

No pic is suspect. But the smell will go away when completely dry and then cured. But if ripe it’s not really noticeable I can’t ever get down to 60 temp but still does alright at 68

Hi mate yeah so it's really not a terribly strong hay smell and I've I squeeze the buds and smell the fingers it smells awesome so maybe just abit of chlorophyll coming out of the plants. I've also gotta use my carbon filter to keep Temps down in tent too so the air is being scrubbed pretty well

Pick a nice big bud and weigh it every day, its probably already lost 25%. When it stops losing grams its dry, jar and cure it.

Dont worry about the hay smell , as stated by the team , it will go away once your dry & cured .
I always trim immediately when i harvest , in three grades , big buds , stalk buds & pop corn . Then into a mesh 5 tier hanger & into the tent with the extractor on low for around 4 days . Then I bag or jar it up for a couple of days so the stem moisture evens out the drier outside leaves. Around then id decide if I want to spread it out again for another 24hrs "airing" or just continue curing . Hope this is helpful . Ive never tried doing it dry , it worries me that I might shake all the thc crystals out !!!

My buds always smell like hay. Dry them for 4-5 days then leave in jars, opening once a day for 3 days. It’ll start getting dank

Hay smell is perfectly normal, mine are 6 days in drying and have just passed the hay stage don't rush dry that's when the smell will stay in buds
