Drying individual nugs (off stem)

I am doing an experiment, I cut four branches and I'm drying 1 nugs on branch untrimmed, 1 nugs on branch wet trimmed, 1 nugs off-branch untrimmed, and 1 nugs off-branch wet trimmed.

I'm gonna cure them all the same I just wanted to see for myself. My question is, how long should I dry individual off-stem nugs before curing? Are there any good tricks? Or do you just feel em and if theyre a little crispy but still have some bounce-back when u press on em?

That’s pretty much what I do and it turns out ok

Most of the cure is in the drying before putting in jars and burping. I take up to a month drying my buds and they are still moist enough to clump up when I put them in jars for another month or more of burping until almost dry enough to smoke out of the can.

Nice golden brown buds that smell great and smoke so smoooooth!

Ok maybe I'll give that a shot too. I've been drying 3-4 days now on average and then curing/burping twice a day and they're lookin good and start to smell good after 3-4 days. I know UV light and oxygen are the two primary factors in trichome degradation so I'm kinda nervous about drying that long tbh. But if you're having good success with it maybe I'll give it a shot on one batch.

3-4 days sounds a little quick. What's your humidity/temp? Higher humidity will slow down the drying(which you want) I dry at 60°(when I can) @ 60% humidity.

Keep them in the dark so no light gets them and it takes months at room temp before any degradation begins so not a lot to worry about there either.

Once cured well bulk amounts can be kept in a freezer for ages with no real change in quality and you'll really notice the difference with a good cure.

Every environment is different but , wet trim the bugs than drying rack for 3-4 days until outside feels dry than jar them up. Over night the next day they are completely moist again than back on the drying racks for another 13 to 24 hours. This gives the best results for my environment

Should last for years if in a good sealed container. I like the idea of using those little freezer portion bags so you could put say 1/4 oz in each one and and stuff them into mason jars or some other airtight container then take one out when you need more and not thaw out any of the others.

I never get around to freezing mine so don't worry about it much.
