Looking for some advice on curing several pounds if buds. It seems impractical to use quart size mason jars. Any ideas ?

Paper bags seem like the way to go with that quantity. Until their ready to bottle. Then, grab one of those food storage vacuums with the re-sealable bags. That will compress it to a more manageable package & will last a darn long time.

I think you can get them at hunting stores for one place. I bet Wally World (WalMart) has them as well.

Good luck though.

i would go with a big tupperware container. like the 40gallon cooler(for soda not awesome) looking ones. then you burp them and move the buds around just like you would with a normal curing job

also you dont want to cure with brown paper bags because that will dry the shit out of your buds. the paper bag absorbs moisture

5 Gallon buckets - check and burp them constantly
Large plastic garbage bags - not the best choice but i have seen it work
Large brown paper bags - work great
Large glass container-like a sun tea pitcher, haven't tried it, but in theory should work

The problem with the cooler idea, as with any plastics, the static will attract the good stuff off the buds. Notice how a baggy of weed will turn cloudy. Thats the trichomes sticking to the side.

Glass doesnt have that problem & when you vaccum seal them in, the tightness makes it so that they dont rub against each other & move around. Thus keeping the wonderful trichomes right were the need to be :)

this of course is just my opinion & what ever works for you is ok by me

Giant Gallon Pickle Jars that you can get at Walmart or any such store...... the ones with the movie type pickles in them :) You would have to discard the pickles and clean the jars

Thanks for the replies, well most of them expect the one about shoving shit in my ass... lol. I'm trying to avoid glass jars if possible. It would still be quite a bit gallon size jars. There's gotta be a better way.

5 gallon buckets with lids works just fine. just open the lid then rotate the buds around every few days .

Curing in any plastic is bad. Especially non food grade plastic. It has toxins that are absorbed in the weed. Don't give advice if you don't know what you are talking about!

First off, what's several?

I can fit on average a oz in one 32 oz Kerr jar(12 for $10) and I can fit QPs in the gallon mason jars($8-11). I cure 2-4 lbs every 2 months and use all mason jars. No better way to cure.

If over 5 lbs then use 5 gallon barrel with covers. Of maybe a 55 gallon drum for larger amounts. If you have that much weed price on accessories shouldn't be an issue.

Sounds like a good problem to have.
