If it smells like hey..let her stay.
If it smells like skunk smoke that funk!

that’s what my buddy told me lol…but it’s not that easy to achieve because I think it’s got alot to do with a tight mature bud to start. I never paid attention to drying in the past but I am this year. How does it smell? Smoke? Once jarred did it rehydrate?
The hay smell is fairly normal. It’s the chlorophyll breaking down. There was no question the plant was done and fully ripe. Actuall dried er to the perfect humidity. Dry trimmed it all pretty,,than into jars. Humidity stabilized at 58. So she’s curing now. Getting a daily burp(air exchange). I’ll let ya know as soon as the dank skunk smell has fully returned. Got my second plant harvested, washed , and drying yesterday. That first day it reeks up the whole house. Than slowly turns to hay/grass as chlorophyll breaks down. As long as you take her ripe and ready I wouldn’t be too concerned if you dry/jar and cure properly.

So far so good. Had a scare yesterday morning. Woke up to an overnight hard frost, after the girls got a little rain(didn’t see it coming, so didn’t get tarp up). They were all limp, and I figured certainly there done. But they perked ip with the sun. Only one returned to looking like it’s not going to make it. So staggered it will be. Let this one dry than take the next. Try and ride out the other 3 seeing how they perked up. Just need them to ripen. I’m fine with there size. We shall see. Tarp up keeping them dry!
