Drying Solution

Last year, due to super low humidity and warm weather, my harvest dried in 3 days. It destroyed the quality of the smoke. This year it's been raining and my drying shed humidity is 85% plus. I can't dry it in the grow tent because the two sativas are at least two weeks from harvest. Plus, I have a whole-house dehumidifier running in the Mancave to keep the tent under 55%. I think I found a solutiuon.

Two wardrobe boxes from Lowes, a $30 humidifier and a $14.99 duct reducer from Amazon, and an extra clip fan and 4" hose I had laying around. So far so good. Been about 6 hours and the temp is stable in mid-60s and the RH stable around 55%. The tiny humidifier doesn't seem to be affecting the RH in the Mancave or grow tent.

Anybody else used wardrobe boxes? Any insights into downstream problems?

Looks like a lot of work. Wine coolers dry the air. I’ll have to spend more time in the thread to see how he solved the low RH issue.

Compressor style wine coolers dry the air. Thermo electric ones don't. The work is easy, though there is work to it, but I had mine finished in about an hour and a half. Works great for me.

Load it up with wet ass weed and low rh will not be a problem. Lol

Then you won’t mind a few PMs from me? I’m gonna hit Craig’s List for a thermoelectric. Although, so far the boxes are holding steady.

Since your flower tent is humid you could pull air from low in the tent.

Agreed, I put my last plant, straight in. It's still drying a bit, but it's smokable now, and I've been enjoying it the last few days.

Yea I don't mind, but if the boxes are working, see what happens. No need to spend money, if you can get another process to work for you, and I'm kinda interested in the outcome. I couldn't get drying in a tent to work real well for me, so the cooler was the best option for me.

Not humid enough. The tent is about 47% lights out and 77F with 38%-40% lights on. I need at least 50% and cooler temps for a good slow dry.

I’ll keep you posted. Let’s see what happens after the cold night passes. I have a feeling I’ll be able to turn the humidifier off overnight. RH rises as the ambient temperature cools.
