hi guys, i just harvested a few days ago. anyways i let the buds dry out completely, but when i put them in these air tight mason jars, they get all wet again. im trying to figure out a better way to store them since this doesnt seem to be working. any suggestions?

also, when i harvested, the plants were daaank and super smelly, delicious really, and now that they are dried, the smell is almost completely gone. any suggestions on what i did wrong? was pretty disappointed at the final smell compared to how the plants smelled.

thanks a lot :blsmoke:

when you put the buds in the jar they were dry on the outside but still had moisture inside.

in the jar this moisture moves out from the centre making the buds feel wet again.

just let them dry and place back in the jar, repeat as often as required.

I find it takes a good few days to get the last of the moisture out.
then the buds should gently crumble into a lovely fluffy mess (i.e. not crumble to a powder) and stink like shit.

Right, they weren't really dry. Let them dry another 3 or 4 days then put them in the jar. After that open the jars to air them out every day for another 30 days to prevent mould.

alright thanks guys. any ideas on the smell? or why they lost almost all of the smell.

I let the buds dry then bag them up a day or two to let the moister pull out of the stem then take them out to dry again for about a day, then there sealed up for good to keep the smell until smoked

I've added a small sliver of orange peel to a bag of weed before. But, that was only to add a bit of moisture to very dry weed (which works like a charm).

I wouldn't "add" anything to your bud to artificially affect the smell. It is what it is.

vacuum sealed bads are the best for storing/transporting... good ones give off no smell. and if you open em up a year later they smell like a couple weeks old
