Is 68-70 degrees and 55-60rh good for drying? Also what should plants smell like as they are drying? I’ve heard that you don’t want to smell the plant as it’s drying?

Temps and rh will work. Smells like weed to me when drying. Not as strong as when growing

That is fine, I shoot for similar during the summer, during the winter I can get it a bit cooler to slow down the process, but to be honest, the herb always turns out good as long as you are on top of the RH while drying, and in the jars. Hanging the entire plant leaves and all helps slow down the initial dry as well-I also find dry trimming to be much faster and easier on my arthritic paws.

I’m noticing a little plant smell when I get close to them. Would that be normal since I’m doing a trim and there is some leaves left while hanging.

Of course, cut plants can smell planty, not to worry unless you smell mold. Keep good air circulation in the room but don't have a fan blowing directly on them. The good smells will come back once they are in jars and start curing.
