I have a few cuts in 1 gallon pots. My question is how long should i keep them in there before i transplant. Whats the average amount of time for roots to fill up the container. They are in ffhappy frog with mulch on top. Been watering every few days since they are outside. Its been HOT! They are doing fine now.

I always figure 1 month to one gallon myself. Roots are not crazy root bound but just enough then that the root ball stays intact for transplant.

I like to up-pot as soon as the root ball will stay together. Individual results will vary, but after about 3 weeks, holding the plant upside down, very gently remove the pot enough to see the roots. This is not good for the roots, but it will inform your decision making.
