The dull side is better than the shiny side as it causes less heat spots and reflects more usable light.
Your better of painting the walls with white emulsion though:blsmoke:

Foil will generate heat not counting heat spots. Mylar is only 25 bucks for like 3 foo by 25 foot role.

but is it ok to have a heater vent in the room to keep the temps up? because i cant just get rid of it and is it nessasary to have an inlet air flow or would opening the door every day give it enough fresh air

Aslong as it dosen't make it too hot. 85 max for veg. below 80 for flower. But you will want fresh air flow.

oh man - i've been waiting to use this line.... foil is for baking!
flat white paint is better
the silver gift wrap will also work (provided you hang it straight)
panda plastic and mylar are excellent surfaces

you're plants need a constant supply of fresh air as much as they need nutrients, light and water.

Hey email... I bet plants would do better in a cool area with no fresh air then in a cool area with no light... not to be a dick, but I'd have to dissagree... hehe... but to stay on topic somewhat, dont use tinfoil. In simple terms, it will end up fucking your plants up, unless your grow room/box is huge and the foil is far as hell from the plants..good luck growing my friend... hey email i wasnt tryin to be nasty just thought it was COOL ......im stoned as fuck maybe that has somethin to do with it lalalallal

WRONG.

plants that live in a cool area without the change of air/fresh air would be prone to mold, diseases, clogging pores on the plants stem and all kinda bad stuff.

your environment is only as strong as its weakest link.

i.e. co2 wont be any benefit if they arent getting enough water, light whatever....

i understand what you mean. i knew when i wrote that you can grow a plant with nothing more than light and water (and something to hold the plant like soil/other). It is a weed after all.

however, ventilation/fresh air is one of the pillars of a good grow which includes nutrients, water and light. can you grow without some of those things? of course - but shouldn't we at least tell people what they should be doing to make the grow as successful and awesome as possible? the person receiving the advice can make reasonable decisions only if they have good data.
