Dumb DWC newbie question about supporting plants

I guess my concern was cleaning the bucket after it is drained to remove any residues left behind. Beginning to think I might be a little
too clean happy. Seems that is not really a big factor. Being new to DWC I was concerned about algae or slimes getting started if I was not
wiping out the buckets before re-setting them up.

Seems my DWC raised up with valves to drain them and pump system for refilling isn't such a bad idea at all then :p

Yes in between grows you'll need to scrub everything down... Tip- I use those Clorox saturated wipes to clean under lids & buckets in & outside and your airtubes.. I was getting a whitish yellow slime clogging my airtubes in late summer last grow which went away after a few wipes & adding some h2o2 hydrogen peroxide to the res....also identified the light leak causing this; the winter temps in my grow room also help keep the DWC water cold as fuck & funk free ; keep an eye on ph -extended drop in ph will tell you if there's funk or not

My 6" pot with duct tape reinforcement.
you could use some string or fishing line or wire or garden line from home depot or just about anything to tie the plant down to the lid of your bucket. Run 3 or 4 strings from top of the main stalk to the lip of the lid so it looks like Y or + from top view; like a telephone pole with guide wires. You can poke small holes on the edge/side of the lid for the string but be sure not to cause any light leaks inside the bucket. Then you can still take the lid and plant off the bucket and the plant is still tied down to the lid and supported...

Do a search for 'welded wire fence' for a good screen material. I found a roll at a tractor supply nearby.

I am trying something with bamboo stakes. I put the stake in before the medium or plant and used zip strips to fasten them to the inside portions of the net pots. also could drill a couple holes in the top of the net pot ad insert a tomato cage.
