Dumb mistake; can I fix it?

Wasn't paying enough attention and somehow blasted straight into my hot water bath

I found something online telling me to freeze it and a few other things that might work. Does anyone know how I can save it.... definitely a dumbass.

gather clumps of oil together, and spread over some pyrex.. id then set the pyrex in oven @ 110F. evap the water.. from there. i dunno. move on to the next batch , and be more careful!

Did the resin clump up when it hit the water?

Yeah it all pretty much was in the same spot, floating on top of the water. I tried the freezer, scraped it up and currently have it on parchment paper. I threw the parchment on top of my skillet. It seems to be purging it of butane at least, The color is pretty gnarly though...

Definitely hear you about moving on to the next run, two steps ahead of you but wanted to try to salvage this as best as I could and see if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks guys

I've done something similar going into water. And just had awful stuff after..

I would take a mason jar and add what you've scraped up. Pour in about a cup of ethanol, let it dissolve and then pop it in the freezer for 48 hours. Strain it through a coffee filter, and then cook it down in Pyrex. Anyone think this sounds about right?

Maybe i'm not sure what "blasted into my hot water bath" means.

But, in response to Kanivers. That would be polishing the extract and would remove waxes, lipids, fats, and flavoids. Might make it taste less like crap but its not going to recover any lost flavor or product. I make a "leftover" wash with h20 from ideas dawg and SkunkPhamacy publish. It comes out chlorophyll green and smells like a dog shit out a massively fresh bud. Put's everyone on the couch in lean back mode.

So water is not the end of the world. You can boil it off or vacuum purge it. If you boil use a double boiler so you temp does not exceed 212F. If you wash it in ethanol you will have to boil/purge it again or else you will have more water in it, as the finest ethanol you will probably find is 95% =5% water.

Edit: Btw putting it on wax paper isn't helping it taste any better.

I did it on purpose with a second rinse.

after spraying, you got your dish of golden butane... I POURED that into the dish of water.. why the hell not, it was a 2nd run.

the butane made some water freeze instantly, but when it was all said and done with, the oil worked just fine.

I think I even got a video of it, which guzias might even remember.....

i have actually heard of people blasting into water.... cant remember the reasoning behind it, but not that big of a fuck up....

a fuck up is when you dont close the valve to your chamber and you turn your vac pump off when its at full vac......
that my friend is a major faux pas.....

what happens is the oil gets sucked out of your pump and into your chamber, and then into your oil

Some people blast into water on purpose, and I've tried it, but didn't like the water pickup.

I would vacuum purge it at 115F or set it in a 250F oil bath and and purge, as well as decarboxylate it for oral consumption.
