I am pretty sure it is random unless the plant is really stressed, then it increases the chance of female. I am not the best person to know about this stuff though.yeah lmao, whats the take on hermi seeds? female or hermie?
Clawing...looks like nutes burnHey lads,
so this i my first DWC grow even though i have around 4 years of growing DWC vegetables with great results, im using the same mix i always use which is Masterblend 4-18-38 + Calnit + Epsom salt, the plant was started from seed and its an unknown variety although supposedly feminized (a friend gave me this seedling but forgot what variety it is)
im not exactly sure what the issue here is since this is the first time i've grown cannabis in this way with these nutes but after read a lot of posts from similar DWC grows with the same mix of nutes i just decided to follow what they all did which is RO water, aim for an EC of around 2.0, PH 5.8-6, now it seems to me like theres some strange coloration on the leaves, and they lack any and all shine, they look very matt.
before everyone at once point out the tip curl i already fixed this, the solution was a bit too strong, took it down from 2.4 EC to 2.0 and the newest growth doesn't seem to be curling.
even though most masterblend grows went for 5.8-6.0 PH i cant help wondering if this is the right ph for these nutes.. i;ve always grown veggies in 6.4 PH as this is what masterblend advocates on their site.
thoughts? thanks.
Honestly im probably just as much of a beginner as you, i just followed guides and videos from other people but i might have overdid it? Not sure tbh.. it was pretty damn crowded before and it felt like air circulation was getting a bit choked off.... i got another 4 weeks.. its just looking at other grow journals for this strain the buds in those grows look much fuller and denser then where im at.. hope it picks up the pace.I think you are fine man. Not sure about all those leaves you pulled though. It seems pretty naked. My buds look similar in bud development just a little behind and I just started week 4 on monday. The only leaves I pull are yellowing or really crowded. I'm not sure how long your plant has left but mine has 4 more weeks I think. I think itll need the leaves to harvest more light to grow bigger buds. I personally feel like you over did it but I am such a beginner you shouldn't take my word for it. I don't know this as fact and I hope more experienced growers chime in.
You are right it looks better from a different angle. I'm not sure if it's the strain or what but your colors look a lot better. Mines a sativa dominant strain. It supposed to be blue dream but I have my doubts. I'm getting some leaves losing color but it could be normal. Here's what mine looks like right now and I am a week behind you.I think the side shot is misleading with regard to the leaves, just took this pic from the top:
still plenty of leaves imo, the buds look like this up close:
man yours looks great, looks much healthier then mine, i wouldnt trip at all if my plant was looking like that, your buds look just fine and the leaves are healthy, in contrast mine maybe a bit greener but its burnt to shit, suger leaves curling and stalled bud growth, worst of all idk what to change to fix this, im running 1300 EC which is actually less then what i ran in veg but if i run any higher i burn it, light is at the correct distance, temps are fine, i just dont know...You are right it looks better from a different angle.
