DWC LED grow with my Pro Grow 260

i see roots in the water, and very few bubbles.

which leads to to believe that they are drowning.

i would drop the water level to about an inch below the net pot and get some air in that water ASAP!

i have not seen any post on what air pump and how many air stones this grow has.

Well I just added 2 more airstones to each bucket this morning and im sure that's going to help for oxygen to the roots. The water level is maybe 2in from the top, I just replaced last weeks water with new water and nutrients and hygrozyme. Hopefully the other two start doing some growing. Also that first picture of the blue dd do u think the yellow tips is from too much light too quickly or what? Thanks guys

Also that plant that's terrible I believe had root rot. after a few days of having the clones I kept seeing very slimy roots so I kept trying to clean them and I was going to try to use hygrozyme to fix her roots up but I think it was too late. Luckily I don't think the other two have it but im keeping my eye out for it.

Okay... 2" from the top of what?

bucket, net, lid???

You should be like an inch below the bottom of the net pot...

yeah its 2in from the lid. I need to get rid of some water and get it closer to the bottom of the net pot

umm yea...your water level should be an inch from the bottom of your net pot if you have roots in the water..period!

like i said earlier your drowning them.

we still don't know what kind of air pump you are using.

all the air stones in the world won't help if you don't have the air pump to push enough of air out.

you should have tiny air bubbles.

yes'ir...

when you change res', slightly overshoot your water level- then syphon the excess to ~1" and let it feed till its about 2 1/2"...then top off....and repeat...

25 a piece.. the Jamaican skunk is dead but I think the donkey dick will keep growing and maybe with the sharksbreath.

well I replace my jamacain skunk with a AK ice and a blue dream clone but im not putting them into hydro until they adapt to light for a few days, plus they are a little small so I want to try to keep the humidity up in there bucket so I have a clear top for it. I also think dropping the water level will be a big help and I wanted to check the roots on the blue donkey d and its starting to grow a ton of new roots and I think its actually growing new leaves..... yippie. and thanks for the constant good advice, its much appreciated.2013-02-05 13.04.02.jpg2013-02-05 13.04.28.jpg2013-02-05 13.05.04 (1).jpg2013-02-05 13.05.32 (1).jpg2013-02-05 13.05.50.jpg

I think you'd be fine if you wanted to transplant to hydroton, the water was the source of all your earlier issues..

Always keep your water an 1" below the bottom of the net pot. Let it flux a little bit... it'll give you THICK, thick "basis" for those tiny feeder roots. You dont want the top of your hydroton to be soaked, the light should keep it dry- from my experience- unless you flush or something.. especially if you're going to keep your humidity up for a while.

What size net pots are you going to be using?

And out of nowhere, whats the distance from your light to clones?

the net pots for the top of the buckets are 6in I think and I now have the light 2.5ft away from the top of the clones. Will that be a good distance away for now.

I would personally move them closer, I love the sweet number 18... seems to be a nice general rule of thumb, though I run my "starters" under T5's so I cannot speak to the Clone aspect myself- just sounds a bit far, especially for just veg mode.

Do you have a Kill-a-watt meter? it will be your best friend with a dual spectrum LED, my Pro Grow 260 pulled ~120w of the Red, ~35 of the Blue.

Id get one and see what you are pulling... 35w... of just blue... at 30", just doesn't sound strong enough.

One plant per net? Any ideas on how large your going to grow em? 6" is for some christmas tree, natural growing plants- for some big ass supporting roots. lol

I am a noob but from what I have read it is important to make sure that the hydroton is full to block light from shining thru the net pots. also cut some cardboard covers to go around the stems covering the hydroton. I dont know if this is causing any problem but couldn't hurt.

Frosty, I think you will learn a lot of tricks by reading over my thread, especially about growing young seedlings/clones

As has been mentioned by several others, you need lots of bubbles (and proper air stones). I use a 45 liter/min air pump, but am moving beyond it to one that is 70 liters/min. Even with the 45 I lower my water level as more roots develop

When you have that volume of air bubbles being generated the air space becomes saturated with nutrient rich oxygen. Keep trimming your tap root to force more roots to develop. Those roots will grow laterally above the water level
