I have seen alot of posts of nutrients but everyone has their own opinion I was hoping someone out there might be using their tap water with a nutrient that works well for them in DWC I was thinking the AN ph perfect line but alot of people say that its great and others say its crap go with this or that I am looking for people that have ran a dwc on their tap and their nutrients they used and how successful was the grow. So far I see AN, Dynagro, technaflora and GH are the most popular. Any help is always appreciated.

It so depends on what is in your tap water. if your starting ppm is 800, with 200 of those being sodium ion, you're out of luck. Your two best tools are 1) a ppm/EC meter, and 2) the municipal water analysis, if you aren't on a well. cn

I'm running a few DWC bubblers at the moment & I use Tap water with AN pH perfect I'm 3 weeks into veg if you want I'll give you the whole run down?

It depends on where you are. I remember quite brackish water in a couple of coastal locations in the Atlantic, and in a Great Basin city. The municipal water analysis will help. i can get my local one online. cn

This dude is right. It all depends on where you live and how your city gets it water. You can easily google search your cities water report and it will list all the chemicals in your tap water.. I live in AZ and the tap water sucks ass here so R/O water it is. Like this dude said if you dont have a PH meter/ PPM meter for hydro grows, stop what you are doing , go out and buy a PH meter / PPM meter because they are the most essential tools in hydroponics growing.

I did a DWC with advanced nutrients iguana juice the grow for veg and the bloom for flowering in Cleveland, Ohio. Worked great but still like organic soil more. Hydro has expenses that organic soil does not and I just like feeling like I am growing something and not working in a lab as hydroponics can feel sometimes. With that said AN iguana juice line worked for me well, but my best advice I can give to anyone is USE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. You can read all the opinions and grow books in the world but if you have never actually done it your just listening to someones advice. Do what you think from reading will work first and then if that does not work keep trying until you find something that WORKS FOR YOU.

We never drank Phoenix tap water growing up and I dont drink it now. We dont get our water from aquifers or natural springs so our water is stored and chlorinated, dont you notice the " Water and Ice" stores on every corner? Those places were my friend when I first started growing , now I have a Stealth 100 R/O system.
I am learning that really fast I have a buddy that gave me plants all that are at different ages in veg as well as different kinds even through he didnt give me the name other then they are OG's but I can tell most are 4 sativa and 2 are indica and no matter how much I have read it all seems like guidelines on what you need to do. I was just going to try hydro to see which I like more soil or hydro and just to try it and learn
LOL I know what your saying but I am in Mesa and it doesnt seem that there all over the place out here so I was curious if the water was ok I grew a plant off a reggie seed and it seemed to grow nicely that is why I was curious about tap water

People have success with tap water just let it sit out for 24 hrs so all the chlorine evaporates. I had no choice the house I bought years ago came with a water softener system for the whole house and you literally have to dump 50 lb bags of salt in it once a month, that shit will kill the plants so R/O system it is. Oh yeah I know DWC very well and the best tip I can give you is maintain cool water temps, it's a must. 70 degrees and lower for DWC or you will introduce slime / root rot. If you can keep the water cool then you will love DWC it will out grow any other hydro or soil grow during vegetative phase, thats the only real trick with DWC.

Not all nutrient lines are created equal, but pretty much any commercial nutrient that you find in a store will sustain plant growth if you use it correctly.
I'll tell you that foxfarm, GH, dynagrow, and botanicare pureblend pro will all grow chronic.
Of those four, GH was my least favorite.
Just remember that when using nutrients, less it more, and don't get too caught up on additives.
