I have a plant in a 1 gallon pot in dirt. I want to put it in a dwc. Can i just put it in there with the dirt ? In Hydro clay leca

You shouldn't transplant like that, ESPECIALLY if it's a drastic change like moving from soil to DWC. And the soil would just cause contamination problems, trust me. It's not a good idea.

Take a cutting and root it in the hydroponic system. Then grow both plants side by side.

Rinse dirt off the roots and put it in a net pot... I've done it more than once; works fine.
