Hello everyone I am having A problem with mucas growing on my roots and airstones. The DWC is my veg setup wich will be my future mothers, I am using ionic along with super thrive and now adding subculture B. The buckets are homedepot buckets taped to darken. I was thinking that it could be the super thrive or the buckets allowing light in. Any ideas??? please if anyone can help it would be great!!!

i'd like to see some pics. i have a sneaky suspicion that your water in your bucket/reservoir is not oxygenated enough. the water should be roiling in there. lots and lots of bubbles.i've had that problem and i went to a GH 4-way air pump to the water roiling and my problem was solved.

It could be lack of air but those water temps are high regardless, once you get above 70 your going to have to start taking precautions against root rot. The sub culture should help, you should put a flashlight inside the bucket(without plants of course) and close it up and see if you see any light leaking out. I cant base this off any reasoning but i wouldnt use the superthrive in dwc, i dont know why i just wouldnt.

your roots are boned. IF "musus" is already present and afixed to your roots...all the peroxide and hygrozyme and subculture cant save you.

STart over and read the part about hydro where water temps staay under 68. Good luck next time man! :spew:

I was told buy my local shop that this is not A problem and I should just keep using the sub culture B and it will clear up!

Sorry everyone I have failed to mention this is with only 1 of 5 bucket's! I have this strain also in soil and it look's like crap there also! The person I got these from A while back did not take care of his plant's, All the plant's had spidermites wich I got taken care of right away and his whole crop had just died from A masive infestaion. This is A deisl/berry blend that he created himself, so I am thinking that the genetics are just not that great!

Finally i found someone with the same problems as mine, i have brown slimy roots also but checked them today nice white looks like they are growing in but want to prevent this happening again because it seems like my growth in the plant slowed dramaticly even though its a 80% indica

ya mucus and the browning of roots will more likely mean root rot, and/or other algae. I just had this problem in my cloner, the temp got way too high and ATM I'm trying to reroot clones from clones. The roots had really early stage of root rot and i just cut above the rock wool and they are sitting in some water. I need to get my cloner going again.

Wow... Sorry I have no helpful input to give, but I've never seen that before. (and hope I never will) That looks disgusting, how does the plant look, is it's growth stunted badly?

It is slower than the others! It grows like crap in soil also, and who knows how well the genetics are in this thing. Just the nug's are sooo good, not big just delic...

I have seen that before as I mentioned on the first page.

I also mentioned there is no way to save it.

looks like liittle progress.

What you CAN do is kill the mucus blob....the bad news is your roots will go with it. IF you are into waiting 3 more weeks to possibly sprout entirely new roots then save these plants.

If you would like to save time start a new round of clones...or focus on your other plants.

everyone makes mistakes...avoid this one in the future. Controlling pathogens is one main aspect of hydro.

I have ran A F&D system for almost 5 years now and never had problems! But as of 5:41pm the roots on that plant look GREAT, everything is going good and if I need to get rid of that plant so be it. This is my first run in A DWC so I expected to have some flaws.

my plants dont look the best but my root was covered in brown algae type mucas also and new white roots grew and are starting to take over, but plants are growing slow i think but they are almost a month old and they are probably 6inches tall not sure because of genetics or what kushberry 80indica 20sativa
