DWC Solar Storm 440 LED X 2 First grow(Comments Welcome)

I am running a 10 gallon tote with between 5-6 gallons filled. Everywhere I read says I need about 1w per gallon. The 2 hose pump I have is only 3w so its not meeting that requirement. All the 6W+ have 4 or more hoses so I am not really sure what the proper protocol for this is. I guess I could just run more air stones but I feel like all those extra hoses will clutter up my res space for the roots.
I think your looking at the aquarium style air pumps. Look at the industrial Eco air pumps. Will be more noisy but move a lot more air and be reliable.

Edit: check out this one for instance.

Yes, I'm trying not to get excited but they are looking more like 12 oz per!

Edit: figured first grow, and going LED id make my goal modest as to not get discouraged.

let me ask 2 ?'s:

what are your res temps?
what are you using to prevent root rot?

And back to the 2 stones, my pump ran at 127 degrees for 2 months straight so you be good if you go with one of these type.

70-75 and orca with peroxide for bail outs. In the proccess of hooking up a chiller and converting to RDWC though.

Edit:and over kill on the air pump

Second edit: I'm being conservative on the 75....that's the highest I've recorded. But the pump is pumping warmer air then then the ambient temp of the room. And I've seen my room up to 79 so.....

yep, chiller will do wonders. 65F.
i'd still use the orca even with the chiller. you get root rot and those pretty ladies start to look like crap soon.

keep on truckin. healthy roots is the key to dwc

yea I will deff experiment. Most impressive to me thus far has been the cheapest and that's peroxide. Once I can control temp I'm gonna try no orca and use peroxide for bailout if need be. I've also seen a lot of people using chlorine which is kind of interesting. But in my switch to RDWC with the chiller there will also be three "waterfalls" to oxygenate the water as well. I'm really thinking once I switch over it will be pretty smooth sailing. Hoping to be able to put the dehumidifier right in the room as well, since room temp won't be as important then.

Edit:these girls will continue to get orca either way, but once I do the next round and have chiller hooked up i wanna try no orca. That would be a nice little savings that would pay off the chiller quick.

And I wish I had a baseline but I started with the UVB light right away at flower and I developed crystal much earlier then the majority of the literature I've read has stated.

if you want cheap and easy, hth pool shock. 0.10 grams per 10 gallons is 1ppm chlorine. will give you a sterile res and it's a nutrient used by the plant. either that or dutchmaster zone will give you asterile res too.
You have anything going on?

this week I'll soon be running a cob & my blurple ive got a friend running a vipar spectra & getting good results people sometimes just got to put others down I think my blurple is gonna do just fine I think clw is legit

that is not a problem, that is the solution. lol. trichs are a plants response to uv, as a sort of sunscreen.

Still chugging along. Got a lot of the RDWC ready. Plants will stay in 5 gal buckets but add a 13 gal tank and chiller to the party.

Mine runs 8 gal. for 2 buckets you're gonna notice ph stays set longer & ppm. is a lot more predictable & even when they're feeding heavy I'm able to leave for up to 3 days without any problems
