Ive read dwc produces the best yeilds and is overall the best hydro method. I havent tried either, just soil, so no first hand input, just what ive read

I say stick out DWC. I use 18g totes and fill them with clones, on a cycle of 3 weeks apart. What kind of issues are you having with dwc maybe I can help.

I like ebb and flow. Easier for growing SOG and they can last for a while in casse of power failure (hydroton retains a good mix of water/air)

Reasons I shy away from DWC?
Have to deal with a single plant at a time. Res changes are a PITA (unless its RDWC)
Power failure = dead plants.
Pythium root rot poses more of a problem when roots are always submerged. (gotta handle your temps)

dwc is less forgiving, if the res temps get to high the plant is fucked. hydroton with a top feed recirculating back to the res is idiot proof. if you forget to chill the res your still fine. I recommend synthetic nutes also, they dont rot and pollute the res with contagions or bacteria. Ive tried DWC and it was more demanding. individual buckets filled with hydroton and a drain back to the res with a top filling system is the easiest i have found so far and far more forgiving than dwc. It's easier than soil for me.

dont expect the same yields but it will be less maintenance. im running both right now and have previously harvested from both. I want to get my hands on a RDWC and even the top drip RDWC type system interest me.

nice one dude :)
how important is it to have a stable temperature? my swing a lot :S may be why I grow so slowly in DWC?:)
and what hydroponic systems must have a minimum of maintenance?:)
the weed make me lazy..-.-

sorry took so long to reply .Its very important to not swing temp more than 30degrees some plants try to turn purple and that takes away from the thc. I do res changes once a week but i have one plant im not going to change the res except for flower flip just to see what happens, I do add bennies too it weekly though .Also PH swing can effect final weight.
