DWC vs Hempy Bucket

I am looking for some opinions on which is superior yield wise between Hempy Buckets and DWC, or is the difference negligible?

I run hempies now and get good results (2-4oz per plant, vegged to 18-24" in 2.5gallon buckets), but have heard that DWC can produce 2x the yield, does anyone know if this true or have any experience using both? Is the DWC worth all the added expense and extra time spent maintaining the system over the simplicity of Hempy Buckets?

Thanks in advance!

Dude. I know we all can be a little bad. But what is a hempy bucket? A five gallon bucket filled with perlite? Have you seen a 5 gallon bucket used for DWC? Have you seen the DWC 5 gallon bucket using just perlite as the Medium? Of course the hempy bucket with an air pump with do better than the one without. Maybe some tricky NFT sprayer bucket deal would beat all three. But dude.

Ok. So i'm picturing two setups made out of buckets side by side.
One is this hempy bucket.
The other is this DWC bucket. Instead of using a net pot. This is a FiveGal Bucket with holes drilled into the bottom to mimic a net pot, placed into a perfectly sealed Fivegal bucket. The Fivegal bucket used as a net pot is filled with perlite. (I swear perlite floats, but i've seen pictures on the internet of it used in dwc, maybe it's a special chunky kind.)

Now side by side I would put my money on the DWC bucket. Only because it is has the airpump.

I agree, i would put my money into the DWX because of the AIRPUMP but you need to make sure u have a nice quality airpump that seriously moves your water and not just oh look there are bubbles lol.

they are different means to an end; that end is getting bud ;)

Hempy buckets have about 0 maintenance, never need to flush all ur nutes except at the end. Don't need to worry about an air pump dying and killing your plants. This is the KISS(Keep it simple stupid) Method of hydro.

I am running two hempys for mothers and it is as simple as it gets...

DWC is a lot more work. You gotta change the nutes every week individually by bucket (assuming its not a RDWC) and if you have a large scale this is annoying to say the least. You also have a very short time before rot sets in if your pumps die. Also gotta monitor the temp of the nutes in your bucket as well.

I have never done a side by side yield comparison but for me It comes down to how much work are you willing to do? I hate micromanaging...

actually you dont have to change the nutes every week, i only change from veg to flower and again when time to flush!
