Dying or need light?

kk so i got these seedlings sprouted and they started drooping and someone told me their doing fine. now after a few days..they stretched about double their length but still continued to droop a lil more.
my room temp is at 24 degrees c and their inside a propagation dome and ive made sure the rockwool their in stayed moist but not soaked. is the droopyness normal?? i just need some reassurance. and do i start their veg cycle rite now with a lil bit of fluorescent light??

They need light as soon as the sprout. If you're using florescent put them like 2 inches away..

could be the strain. some strains just don't have thick stalks/stems. if this is true for this plant they cold be perfectly healthy and just showing their nature at at young age. more light never hurts though!

More light? It sounds like he hasn't given them any light yet..

tym's right they need light asap and close to them...what strain are you growing?

so should i place them under the light?? because some are tall but still have the shell some-what attached but falling off. i read that your suppose to wait til they have 4 true pedals with a 5th just beginning to rise to start the lights.

they are pk. then i shall start their cycle of light!

w/e your reading x out that BS! Lights close as possible without burning and watch your problems of stretching stop

They NEED to go under the light AS SOON AS THEY SPROUT..

They are growing tall cause they are looking for light. They might be to far gone now..
If you're going to try to save them, put a light over them, almost touching them.. Many of them look like it's way to late.

Next time, you should read up on how to do this before you waste a bunch of seeds..

The person who told you they were fine, probably assumed you had a light over them, and didn't see them when they were this bad..

GET A LIGHT OVER THEM RIGHT NOW! DON'T EVEN REPLY TO THIS THREAD TILL YOU HAVE, THEY ARE GOING TO DIE..

hes abs. correct you might be able to make up for the stretch by tranplanting them to the first set of pedals and keep light on them closely

sorry meant to say purple kush, and they are under just one 34watt cool white fluorescent tube light fow now.. and going to keep this on til they have 5-6 pedals and then transfer them to a 1000w hps. (no other veg lite..)

If they live, you can bury them deep till about 1" from the pedals. Keep the light VERY close, he is using florescents. So you will have to keep the light within 2 inches of the little guys. Once you've saved the ones that you can. get a small fan blowing across them to streng them them up.. I tend to let mine stretch out a bit before I transplant them, it gives them a head start cause I bury them in the hydration to cover the rockwool..

Yes hes right..ive read that light too far can cause stretching...but i didnt know they needed light immediately after sprout...and i was looking for this info all over the net until i read from somewhere that light doesnt get used until the 4-5 pedals are shown now apprently wrong.

That's a good idea. You might want more light to start them out, if you can't have the light right over them, they will stretch.. 3 per light usually.. I use a long 4 ft T5.. that way I can get them all in a row..
You don't have to wait till they get 5 sets of leaves, you can put them under as soon as the first two real leaves open up... Picture #2 above is under the HID..

I misunderstood. I though they were under light in a clear dome. I know it has been said but please allow me to clarify. Plants need light before the sprout. the heat generated lets the new stalk and cotyledon leaves what direction to go. they are then considered seedlings until the scenario you mentioned with the 5th petal appearing. once that happens it is then considered that the vegetative stage has begun. and by the way: LIGHT, LIGHT, LIGHT!!!

YOUR PLANT NEEDS YOU!!! to turn the light on. Daylight tubes or equal spectrum.

For future reference, as soon as the sprout breaks ground, have a light over them.. I leave the light on 24/7 for the first week even before they sprout, just so when they do sprout (usually with in 3 days) the light is there and read for them.. Then I'll let them sit under the florescent for the other 4 days before I transplant them and stick them under the HID..

Here is a quick breakdown of my last seeds:

Day 1: Planted 5 nuken seeds into peat pucks soaked in fuji bottled water. Placed them in a heated seedling flat with a clear dome.

Day 2: Put a 23w T5 FL a couple inches away from the top of the dome.

Day 3: first 3 broke ground.



Day 4: Last two sprouted.

Day 5: Lightly watered the girls (at least 2 of them I hope) this morning, They are looking great. A couple still have seed husks stuck on them, I hope they fall off soon or I'll have to try to do it myself

Day 7: Put them in their new home (in rockwool, in net pots with hydration).

From there, depending on your method, all you have to do is water and feed them, keep them well lit and bob is your uncle..

hmmm actually im not too worried now.. they look about the same height as your plants!! but just drooopy but ive got light on them now!!!

Yeah, there are a few that look like they may not make it. But that's ok, many of them will.. It may slow down growth for a few days, but I'm sure they will be ok..
