Wow mate, great advice / info.

Your setup sounds very similar to mine, this crop will obviously be dissapointing due to the bad start to life my they had.

What root stimulators do you use? have you ever used fishe blood and bones?

Have you ever used grow bags? Although not deep they are long and wide and cannabis is is shallow rooting plant. Let me know what you think.

Again great advice, will def keep in touch!

One other thing, i started a thread on it in the indoor grow section and seemed to get a bad response. As you mentioned about the temp getting too cold have you ever tried an alternative lighting pattern? for example 2hrs on 20mins off or 11hrs on 1hr off or something similar, basically using micro cycles?

I am interested to see if this would increase/decrease the yeild so might setup a small test area with a single plant in? What you think

Don't get to downhearted, I've read back through and I'm guessing you've got the problem sorted within a week or so, Im they will still yeild. Plus you have made a mistake you won't make again so you can scratch that one of the list ;-)

For root stimulators I use either Canna Rhizotonic or Bio Bizz Root Juice. I buy whichever of the two is on offer ;-) I have not noticed any difference in performance between the two. They are both 100% vegatable based. I have not used Fish products, so I can't advise you on them I'm afraid.

I'm not sure if LR's have a preference for vertical rooting or horizontal. To be honest, I'm pretty sure as long as you have good soil then it will fill it. Just try and go for at least 2 Gallons of soil per plant and you'll get a good result.

What is the volume of the bags you are using?

I'm kinda thinking micro cycles would decrease your yield? They like a nice long day of light and about 4 hours dark.

However I think testing one plant would be a good idea, especially if it increases yield and you let me know! :-P

Is Lowryder2 a ruderalis strain? It will autoflower with only 4 hours of dark? WOW!

Am I misreading? Does it really autoflower? I had Nirvana's Ice and they had so much differences in the same strain due to ruderalis and the autoflowering. A shame about ruderalis strains is that you cannot keep a mother plant.

I'm more old school and have been out for a bit tinkering with my own junk. I haven't bought seeds in a bit. Under a 600W I thought the light would penetrate up to 29". I'm growing my clones up to 6" tall before they flower that way I will be sure to use all available space.

Micro cycles (I'm not sure about your strain) will create some really funny looking plants, keep your lighting close to a natural schedule and the plants will do well. Remember it is just a natural plant after all. There is no place on earth that has micro light cycles.

You didn't misread my friend, it is indeed an autoflowering strain and is part ruderalis. Is the original lowrider crossed with Santa Marta a Brazillian Sativa, and is taller and more potent than the original.

Oh and from what I've found 4 hours dark is how to get the biggest yield, any more hours of dark lead to reduced yield and any more hours of light and I find they don't root as quickly.

I would check Dr Chronic's site out, there seems to be more and more autoflowering strains every day

I'm not much of a fan of ruderalis but is sure is potent stuff! I use to grow Ice (part ruderalis) from Nirvana seed co. and just got tired of buying new beans all the time. I'm trying mother plants again this winter.

Wish me luck! I wish both of you the best also!

it sounds like the ph is off and possibly some root rot if the roots are not white, buy some GH flora shield if it is indeed root rot and use acid to bring the ph down i find that ph is one of the most common problems when it comes to sickly plants

Not sure will check tomorrow, but have cut them in half and used them as half barrel type vessels!

I will t4est 1 for sure, i remember reading an artical years ago about some dutch guys experimenting with light using strobing and other lighting patterns. I have been away from growing for a while and really wanted to know if people had looked into this further?

I'm not too downhearted, at least they survived (unlike the last ones!!!). Will try the fish blood and bones and let you know how i get on. Going to get some more seeds on tyhe go in the next couple of days. No mistakes this time.....

Good luck too mate. I too have always been a mother plant gardener, but for shear convenience the lowryder 2 femenized have it at the moment. As was written earlier there are new strains available regulary.

aaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

After getting a nice bit of foilage and the plants getting to 5-7" i repotted into grow bags and now, after 2 days all new growth is Yellow and unhealthy looking. All old growth is still green and fine.

This is a F@#king nightmare. Those plants are super fragile or something.

Haven't used any noots yet, might be some in growbag?

AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

Any pics Don?

Problems with new growth are usually due to a deficiency in Secondry/Immobile nutrients.

Just to double check,
What ph water are you feeding them?
What soil is in those grow bags?
What lights are they under/distance from plants?
What temp. is the room?

Ok

PH just uder 7
Soil? Not sure, grow bag compost? (think must be the culprit
Lights are 3' above plants 600w sonT
romm 25 degrees humidity between 50 - 70%

Have changed soil again to a multi purpose seed soil.

I have always grown the same way and have never had these problems, If i believed in curse's???

Hmmm,

Everything sounds right to me?
Hard to tell without pics. I wouldn't do anything too drastic see how it goes over the next day or 2 hopefully they will green up.

Hey Don,

Just checking in, how are they looking?

Hello mate

Happy New yaer etc..

Well all the new growth on the plants turned yellow, then started drying up!! I pulled the plug on them. I have a new lot now and they look OK, only 3" high at the moment but they seem ok. I think maybe i had a curse put on me or something because never have i had such problems...

Anyhow will post picks so you can see.

Cheers again mate

Sorry to open this thread again after 4 years! I haven't been around for so long but am back now and wanted to draw a line under this thread. It turned out all my plants were dying form offgassing or outgassing, many happy crops since discovering this....
