Thanks for all the good info Rollers! I'm still relatively new to growing... 3 grows. I started with GH products just because... probably because of ease and that's what the guy handed me. I'm ready to give something else a try. I'll have to read this thread a few more times to take all in. Keep it up.

I've got some girls in first week of veg now. They are in a DWC system. Any suggestions on how to make the change now. Any issues to be aware of with making the change at his point?

Thanks!

just wanted to post that i picked up some liquid bloom, pro-tect, and mag pro. i have fed it now to over 300 plants in different stages of veg. twice now. about 15 different strains. some in cups, some in 1 gal soil bags and some in 5 gal soil buckets. i used it with an R.O. machine and also with tap water. so far i'm impressed. thanks for the heads-up on this product. im going to test it on a few runs.

Just sprayed my girls down with DG neem oil, and protekt, trying to fight off a small mite problem i just noticed. I notice today the leaves are super green. i mean like a couple shades of green, brighter, overall really healthy looking.

*side note, does anyone know if HotShot No Pest strips are ok to use in an area where the air is going to mix with regular household air?? It says mostly for crawl spaces and such.

fuckin mites man...are u only in veg ? if not how far into flower are u ?

bro what pests do u have i put hella that tan tape a little thicker then regular tape and just simply put it on the floresnts i have on the floor and i saw 20 dead fungus gnats in one day saw no gnats before ...now i saw a couple but it killed most those fuckers

veggy only right now, but the flower box is fairly close, and they just started couple weeks in. I dont know if the mites can migrate across the floor into the other box.

pretty sure i picked up the mites with a BlueBerry clone i got a month or so ago. i thought I fought them off, but looks like they are back, mostly attacking my BC purp right now, but see signs of them on a couple seedlings also.

far as other bugs, Iv only ever noticed some gnat flies, but not many, and really havent noticed them doing any damage. One of my girls looks wicked sick, maybe to hot a mix in the soil, I flushed her out heavily, wait, n see if it comes around.

i have had a ton of success so far with a combo of forbid and avid. or just forbid alone followed by avid seems to work great. mighty wash has fried my plants before and so has neem. i only use this stuff in veg though if i have an issue. i try to spend time maintaining a clean sterile environment in my rooms and try to avoid getting clones from people now that i have my mothers setup. also, if you have to get plants from someone else, quarantining them first is a good idea if you have the option. i guess what im trying to say is once you kill them its best to take preventative measures to keep them from coming back.regardless of which product you use. i recommend forbid, but research it first and use it safely.

My bottles of Dyna-Gro have huge chunks of precipitate in the bottoms... Like a big solid layer of precipitated nutrient covering the bottle of each bottle. I tried shaking, didnt work, I tried heating it up to almost boiling and that didnt work at all... When I shake the bottle it sounds like there are rocks in the bottom.
Is this normal for Dyna-Gro? Should I even use the bottles?

I picked up some Tiger bloom and it has a similar make-up (2-8-4), but it lacks the calcium of DG. I may just play it safe and stick with the TB(no precipitates)

I've only ever encountered this with my bloom bottles and apparently it's caused by temperature swings possibly during bulk warehouse storage or during shipping. I can say this though, it's never caused any issues for me. I know this has been discussed elsewhere and DG is in the process of reformulating their salts so this wont happen when the bottles aren't handled/stored correctly.

I can imagine that if you have always had the precipitates in your bottles than you may have learned to adapt specifically to the product in its post precipitated form. So if you now were to recieve a bottle staight from the factory with no precipitates it could actualy cause you a problem(at least until you adapt again).

I imagine that it is mostly the calcium in the Bloom that is precipitating as there is a fairly large amount of calcium in their product(2%), so the solution may simply be to add back the lost calcium. But only experience will tell

I've got the bottles sitting in a slow cooker right now lol... But it doesn't seem to be helping :eyesmoke:

Just use it as is, it's fine. I use their products in RO water and I have never had issues, ever.
I already went and bought some Tiger Bloom(2-8-4) so I will use that for this grow. I will give the DG a try sometime though. I feel too much is on the line with my grow to take any additional risks.
The DG would save me a few $'s though and I would'nt need to use Cal/mag either

If I ever make a complete switch to DG I will likely buy a large amount direct from the company and have it shipped during warmer weather

Good info Rollers! I've been researching nutes.... Between the good reviews in this thread and the Dynagro Dumpster grow by HB... I made the switch to DG weekend. I'm so freakin sick of adjusting ph for GH!!!

Fire it up!

homebrewer when u are in flowering do u ever feed more then the recommended dose on the bottle towards the middle or end ? if so how much more lets say it says 4ml per gallon would u ever feed 6 to 7 ever? thanks homebrewer!

Tiger bloom sounds kinda incomplete, what do you combine it with?
hmmm you might be right... afterall it is intended for soil

I'll be mixing it with H&G Cocos A+B primarily at a rate of 1part H&G and 2 parts Tiger Bloom

Do you think I'll have deficiencies doing that? I'll also be using Cal/Mag plus which says "now with trace minerals" on the bottle... not sure if that'll help or not

http://apps4.cdfa.ca.gov/fertilizerproducts/default.aspx

Also it's possible that there are other minerals in the bottle that just arent in the analysis. The California review is still pending as seen in the link above. It does say worm castings and kelp are two ingredients, which I imagine add some minerals to the mix. But 0% sulfer may be a bit concerning

The recommended dose from any brand in regards to base nutes literally means nothing to me. They don't know my plants better than I do. I feed based off of EC and what my plants have liked in the past.
