Hi all,

Thought it was best that I finally get off my arse and do a grow journal, so here it is :)

Details of grow:
900x600x1.6m tent
Cyco range of nutrients
600w MH (Powerplant) for grow and 600w HPS for flowering (sunmaster)
single plant hydro setup, 1x 10L pot inside another 10L pot with drainage holes and feed ring on top
Perlite for medium
strain: Big Blue (Northern Lights 5 x Blueberry) from High Grade seeds.

First day of my clone in the system :)

For the first week I only used 1/3 strength nutes so 1 mL p/l of Grow A&B, 1 mL p/l of B1 Boost, 1mL p/l of Dr Repair, 0.5mL p/l of Silica, 80mL of rhyzotonic, 0.25mL p/l of floralicious plus. I also foliar sprayed with nitrozyme.

Day 6 of being in the system.

Couldn't flush till day 9 so only a little bit of growth till then. Upped the nutes to double what they are listed above but still using 1mL p/l of Dr Repair and B1 Boost. I've also been foliar spraying each day with a product i use for my aquarium called Seachem Flourish Excel, it is an organic carbon source for aquatic plants so I thought I'd give it a go...well you can see its working :)

Sorry for the poor pic but this is day 12: You can see the darkness in the leaves and overall health of the plant!! Lovin it :D

So yeah guys, feel free to chime in and if you have any constructive advice please share, otherwise I'm always open for a laugh!!

Edit: woops got the day 6 and 9 photo's round the wrong way!

Subbed :) Cheers man!

Looking healthy, just maybe a little over watered, not that you can drown in perlite, but if you stretch it an hour more maybe the leaves may perk up some more :)

but you may have just foliar sprayed and that can look similar ;)

shweeeeet!

Thanx so much for bein here man :)
Ah cool, had a feelin it may be overwatering, I'll knock the waterings back an hour ;) i may also need to add some more fresh water to the res as I can just make out a little nute burn on the tips of a couple leaves. She's not a nute hungry girl this one so i have to take it real easy!! So good to have you chimed in bro :)

perhaps try twisting the plastic/rubber feedring so the nipples face down, it won't be nesescary to have them wet the actual block. When the pumps run for about 10 minutes the block will have slowly absorbed JUST the right amount of water/nutrient, and then the perlite surrounding will balance the moisture overall. It is easy to over-nute/feed early on as the rockwool cubes hold alot of water.... too much for fast growth if directly applying. Think of them as a candle wick slowly absorbing the moisture around it.... feel free to bump the feed back when the plant is adjusted and larger.

I think that could be the issue with the n ute burn also...... are the sprayers getting the plant wet at all? perhaps cover the ring with perlite ;) mine stays well hidden and has many asking :p

Happy to be ere! I'll do my best to help i'm certainly no know all, but happy to share experience

That's a good idea actually bro, will give the twisting a go and see how it goes. She's picked up a bit today actually and not drooping anywhere near as much as yesterday. Also the nute burn doesn't look to be going any further so i'll keep monitoring every day, there was a bit of a pH swing after the res change over the weekend too so that may have also contributed to it. Got her nice and even on 6 now which is what the cyco chart says to keep it on! Grow XL week next week so really looking forward to some explosive growth :D

cheers again bro, any knowledge of yours is really appreciated hey :D

Here's a shot of my scrog screen that i will be using once my girl is tied out and topped again :)

And here's a shot of my Sugar Haze which I've been told by the breeder that I have the 14 week pheno which is shit because it wont finish in time before the cold weather hits, however it will mean she goes inside at night and back out in the morning! Really looking forward to seeing how she smokes :D

Well it seems i have a problem...my circuit breaker keeps tripping.

it started happening a few days ago right when my lights etc would come on so yesterday i changed things round and put my light on a seperate socket with its own timer and i put the fans on a seperate socket with its own timer but coming on earlier and going off just after the light. Well it seemed like it worked as when the light came on, the power stayed on. Then i get up this morning and the power has been off since the middle of the night. My issue is that nothing came on at the time it went off so its got me stuffed if i know what is causing it :( at least when it was doing it the other day it was right when everything came on so i was home to just flick the circuit breaker back on.

My girl was in darkness out of cycle for 7 hours last night! Anyone have any ideas how i can isolate the problem? The only thing different that im doing this time is 2 new desk fans and the hydro system. Could be a faulty water heater maybe??

i'm guessing water heater issue...... they use alot of power, if you are only running one lamp, thats only drawing around 2-3 amps. I sometimes run 2 x 600 ballasts on 1 power point no problem, you sure its not your timers? make sure they can handle atleast 10 amps....

WOW man!! been a while since i seen her! 14 week pheno!? hmmmm, i'm guessing a shade less but definately a sativa! she may be suited for cold weather but i'm sure you will keep an eye on her! I grew a sattie years ago and had long delicious purplish buds that had been coloured by the cold but not quite frostbitten.... some plants loooooooove the cold.

Looking spectacular!

Thanks bro, will be checking the water heater when i get home. My sparky mate also said it could be due to the wet weather we're having at the moment, it may be getting into one of the power points and causing it to flip out! I'll be double checking every single thing this arvo, dont want this happening again...ever!! Good point about the timers too, might get a new one just to be safe!!

Yeah the sugar haze is a true beauty hey, i nearly fell off my chair when the breeder told me it may be the 14 weeker, my heart sank but then i got happier as exactly what you said, she may enjoy the colder weather and go a little purple! Either way i cant wait to smoke her :D i hope you're right and she finishes earlier, that would be great!!
