I disagree!The brown pistils are telltale signs of russet mite infestation. If you take a closer look with magnification you will see them.
Its outside with ten other ladies that are totally fine, and its been quite dry this summer thankfully.High humidity?
Okay cool. Ill give it a good look with the new scope tomorrow, and report back with better images.Check the base of fan leaves and stem areas right at the node. I circled the areas you should be looking at.

I've never seen this, and thought i was just being anal-retentive.I’m pretty confident that is your issue, russets love that dry, late summer weather.
