I am looking for the cheapest easiest way to add some side lighting to my HPS light. I need help with what type of adapter to buy and how to set up? a little confused here in the cfl section lol. Any help is greatly appreciated and +rep'd

I justwent to home depot and bought a 3 foot t-5 2 tube and mounted it half way up into my plants height on the wall I know everyone says to go with red light for flower but I really felt like it balanced the hps to add the blue light to the flower room as well definately cant hurt veg growth is flower growth sugar factories hope it helped bro.

i assume you're doing this for flowering? in that case you want 2700k (warm) cfl's. they're basically only good for one cola so get one for each side branch you are trying to enhance. no adapters per se you just need a normal light fixture that an incandescent light uses. you can get really cheap ones at home depot. 26 actualvwatt /100 equivalent watt bulbs would do the trick but 42 actual watt/150 equivalent watts if you can handle the heat and electricity would be great.

Grab a couple of those. CHEAP, and you can put them UNDER your plants as well as on the side. :)

Good luck!
Is there a plug in on those or do I have to buy an adaptor of some sort?

So how much for a little fixture? and do I just mount it to some wood on the sides?

you can find 42w 2700kct at wallmart, target just about anywhere that sells cfl's 3 of those will give you somethig close to an extra 400w of light. I took parts froma 4 foot shop light got 3 light sockets some wire from the old light. and some tape.

The light strips can be daisy chained, and come in various sizes (I think 2', 3' and 4'?). Since they are longer instead of spotted bulbs like the little walmart CFL's, they'll reach more plants. In a 1000w lamp setup, just putting two of these under the plants facing up will help a bunch. Makes those popcorns nugs.

Cheers
