you have all the things down man...
I would concentrate on the mulching... go with leaves - dead OR ALIVE... surrounding grasses etc... gather them up and lay a nice thick layer around the base of your plants... spread them wide... 3 or 4 feet... will help to keep that soil cool, moist and prevent it from drying out and since you'll be using natural stuff - as opposed to a layer of straw or hay - it should blend in to the environment quite well...
Good luck brother~

mean grean- there are many types of slow release ferts available. in fact the vast majority of them are. the osmocote chingsbuddy is talking about is a slow release in granular form. but there are many organic choices as well. blood meal, blood meal, guanos, compost just to name a few. every year i use some bat guano to at nitrogen to the soil and good compost for nitrogen and lots of micronutrients it's a good way to get them going well once i put them outdoors.

there is a product in canada called yield master, its a semi organic slow release fert that works very well, but you have to reapply every 2 weeks.brings the taste out bigtime.i would discourage against the mulch with dead matter during flowering,it encourages mold problems and we dont need that.there is no suffering of yield what so ever when using swamp tubes, they plants get all the water they need.oscmocote 14-14-14 is made by scotts, its a 4 month slow release fert that looks like little white and brown balls with about a 3/16" diamater.its a full, complete fert and your plants will look healthy all year long.produces bigger yields than organic with little to no effort, one drawback is you cant really flush them so use on plants that you plant early june and harvest late september into october...hope this helps...and good genetics also go a long way.i would suggest anything from esben or something from rcmcollective.durban poison is a great one.but my top 2 would be timewarp(next gen is the best available)and freezeland from rcmcollective.its a big potent, resistant tasty girl that is sure to please.erdpurt is another good one.these 3 strains will all finish at 45n by mid to late september.get the freezeland while you can...

water ploymers will cut the need for water up to half. they are an super water absorbing polymers that sucks manytimes it's weight in water and slowly releases it back into the soil. they are supposed to be completly safe for even veggies.
i know my mom loves them for container gardening they work good for her. i have used them in the past for some ganja plots but in the past years have not. but they work and some people love them. a little bit goes a long way. like a tablespoon in a cup will absorb enough to fill that cup to the top. they apear like jello when full of water.
if watering is going to be a problem buy some, they will work for you

excavation companies use copolymers for floccing settling ponds .pulp mills also use it. mix 0ne ounce with one gallon water. polyfloc 1100 and its dirt cheap. i have one hundred pounds of it. careful around drains as it will plug them. do not spill powder in sink drain. big problem. peace out.
