Ebay grow kits

Hi all, i was just wanting to find out peoples opinions of the ebay complete grow kits. They are a lot cheaper than most grow kits, but i'm worried they might be scams. I would only be growing for me and a relative to use. I'm currently unemployed so if i got scammed it would put me on my arse lol

This is is an example one of the grow kits:

thanks for any replies

So which secret jardin does it come with? I know a dark street, but what size? I'd suspect you'd get the DS60 (2'x2'). Or not even a secret jardin at all. In the picture they cut out where it shows the secret jardin logo and model#

Either way that tent if it IS a secret jardin and IS a DS60 its about 70 pounds. The fan and filter are only 100mm, really? The ballast and bulb and reflector and fan and filter makes it seem like a good deal if those are the brands you really get.

Shop around, HTGsupply.com, amazon.com, greners.com, other ads on ebay.

That ad just seems sketch in how they downplay the competitors and reassure you its not a knock-off. Then fail to include what tent you're getting, instead they list the models offered. Which one is THIS LISTING including would of been more helpful. And the picture shown doesn't help either. It looks like the DS listed on the secret jardin website, but who knows what it really is.

hmm, well I do know there are cheaply made ballasts out there. I've never heard of this company called Venture either. Also, the 25 year guarantee sounds like they're trying to confuse people with a warranty.

But that is not to say that this ballast won't last a few years and thus you would grow more than the equipment is worth. I don't even know what the hell kind or what company made my ballast, I got it off a company that has no store front but happens to be in the same province as me. They delivered it to me them selves in discrete boxes at like 10 PM and said its got a 5 year warranty. At least if I have problems, they'll be here same day to replace it, not so with an ebay system. But like I said, if i get 1 grow out of my 1000 watt system, it would pay for its self.

Personally, I wouldn't buy anything like this off ebay , but a LOT of people ONLY buy their grow stuff off ebay. If you buy it locally and your ballast does die, I've heard of hydro stores even loaning ballasts to keep the plants happy until a new one arrives.

I know the ads are very un-professional, vague and even a bit dodgy. A friend bought a grow kit from ebay for a similar price and got it just fine, but i'm not sure. Would i be able to use ebays buyer protection ?

A friend of mine bought his tent on ebay some area 51 tent or something and had none of the things the listing said it had, aside from being a tent. Contacted seller and never heard anything back.

I buy all my shit online on amazon aside from nutes and media and anything heavy that would cost a ton to ship and I can get locally for just as cheap or cheaper and i've been lucky. My tent came with a tiny tear in it, but I complained and got 50 dollars off. My 2 outlet timer was a 1 outlet, but I complained and got a 2 outlet sent to me for free and got to keep the 1 outlet. Fortunately the sellers I bought from were good people.

This seller seems dodgy, but his rating is good. If it was the steal of a century and you could afford to lose the money(i mean who can?) i'd say do it, but that deal isn't THAT great, so i'd look elsewhere. Or go to the seller that your friend bought it off of. Do they do craigslist across the pond? Check craigslist. You can find some insane deals on craigslist. I personally said fuck it all and bought the best products for the best prices I could find.

I bought 4 of the hygrometers shown in the picture and every one of them reads something different, side by side, in my house. Pieces of shite.
