Ebb and Flow table questions. Specifics needed.

By the way I also use a drip to flood from the top into the rockwool cube down through the Hydroton. That is one reason I flood for 15min. What do you think would be a good amount of time to flood with a drip as well?

Are you saying that the RW cube is constantly soaked?

If so that is bad...

I use RW cubes, but they stay dry, well above the flood level...

Soaked RW will lead to stem rot...

Once your roots reach the flood area, I would stop the drip... but before you actually listen to me... ask someone that actually knows a thing or two...lol...

but that's what I'd do...

Ok Ive moved the drip off the RC. Iam now waiting 2hr between waterings. Iam a little worred cus I have been getting massive growth, the best Ive seen and I realy dont want to slow it down. Does anyone have any input? Thanks for the help and advice GB.

In all honesty, if you are getting MASSIVE growth... I am not sure why you would change anything...

If it is not broken, don't try to fix it... I believe someone said that already...

I'll shut up now so some of the other folks can chime in...

Ok well ill keep the drip off the RC any way and see what happens. Ill try to take some picks but I cant seem to find the right settings on my cam for my agrosun light. These are by far the bigest Ive grown in 16 days. about 15" wide and about 9" tall, very very bushy. And thanks again for chiming in GB please keep doing so!!

I've got my equipment, and am building my room next weekend. I"m doing two 4x4 flood trays under three 600w Hortilux Super HPS inside Xtrasun air cooled reflectors. I'm planning to root clones in 1" rockwool, transplanted 8" apart in 4" rockwool cubes in Hydroton. I'm going to flood 3 times a day.

Does this sound about right? This is my first grow, and even though I've researched up the wazoo, its hard to know if I'm making the right decisions.

Also, for the people who use General Hydroponics 3 part, do you use the mix suggested by GH, or do you adjust it?

Thanx for the help, guys, this is just about the greatest site on the web.

If you flood RW 3 times a day it will be too wet...

I keep to the small cubes, above the flood line, in hydroton filled pots...

After I put my rooted clones in pots, the RW cubes stay dry... and flood multiple times...

Most folks flooding RW, do once a day.. maybe 2 in heavy bloom...

I do not flood RW so I am not the best answer you can get.. but, there's my 2 cents...

I was concerned that 3x/day might be too much, glad I asked. I've also read that rockwool is not ph neutral. Is that true, and if so, what should I do about it?

I cannot answer that, I do not flood RW..

Sorry...

One thing you could do is ... what a lot of us do...

Interesting...Is that a 1" cube? How do you ensure the roots don't dry out b4 they reach the solution? or do the pellets wick the moisture up?

I make sure I don't transplant with a dry cube...

And I hand water if need be, but usually they just go crazy on their own...

And then you can flood multiple times... bringing a fresh supply of O2 to the root zone at every drain...

Gypsy, you are a wealth of information...I'm going to stop spreading all those nasty rumors about you ;)
