Ebb and Flow

I am starting a few seeds in grodon rockwool starter plugs. After they pop up I want to move the seedlings into an ebb and flow tray, into 5.5 inch net pots filled with hydroton

I already have the hydroton so want to use it up, is 5.5 inch net pots big enough for 3' plants?

How often do I need to flow the tray? I am assuming more in the begining as they dont have a lot of roots and I can scale it back later on? Once an hour to start maybe?

I got black plastic mortor mixing pans for flood trays from home depot. They are 3' x 2' x 8" and were $11 each and seem thick. I picked up bulk head kits from my local fish store and am going to set up them and see how they work.

I want to run 2 of these trays 3 x 2 each but how deep should I set them to flood, I was thinking 5" or where it is just below the top edge of the pots?

I have a 40 gal rubbermaid to use as a res, can I run this res for both trays and just make sure they are flooding at different times by putting two pumps in the res on seperate timers? (I already have 2 magdrive 3's)

How long should the tray flood for, I know how to set it up so it fills and drains but how long should the pump stay running, I was planning on using those timers that allow 15 min on at a time and have it run for 15 min each time it floods.

Any good links on ebb and flow set-ups?

Patience is a virtue. It took me a month and a half to read enough of RIU to have the basics down. People won't do ur work for u.
