Ebb and gro help

In my last run with this system (5gal) , my plants all grew roots into the drain and caused many problems. Any suggestions on how to control the roots better ?Also, what's the best temp for the water ? Thanks

Need more info. What size flood tray are you using, is it covered, what is your medium, how close are the plants to the drain, etc.

Short answer, prune the roots bi weekly.

Roots chase the water. They will go where ever it is wet. Only way to stop them is to make those places not wet.

I used coco fiber mats in the bottom of my pots and it helped...but the roots eventually will push through.

Not sure how your system works. Maybe flood less often.

Sounds like a tiny system. I would start with a 2 x 2 tray and a little bigger res.
