Edibles and cotton mouth

I really like edibles. They make me sleep really well and mellow me out. I like to eat them around 7pm. After a few hours I'm chillin in bed ready to go to sleep. I used to go to bed at 2am. Not now!

The cotton mouth is the only drawback. About 2 hours after eating I get cotton mouth that lasts for a couple of hours. Really puts a damper on wandering off to sleep. I almost have to wait it out.

Any tricks to avoid cotton mouth?

Am I doing something wrong?

I generally lightly saute the trimmings in veggie oil for about 15 minutes under low heat. Then bake them into some muchies. Nothing fance...

A sip of water is very short relief.

Chew gum.

I have never had cotton mouth so bad that I couldn't fall asleep.
If I use cough drops. The ones with sugar create a sugary paste my mouth is so dry. So now I use Ricola's or however it's spelled. They are sugar free and are better but don't truly fix the cotton mouth.

Gum would do to me what the cough drops do. Help but not fix it.

I've been told I'm just eating too much dank! That's very possible.

THC's nature side effect is cotton mouth. There is nothing you can do about it. You'll get it even if you don't smoke it. I think in the future the only way I'm going to use MJ is with edibles....No risk of cancer and a great high all around.

The high is fantastic but puts many on there ass. I guess one day I'll find out how to cure the cotton mouth.

Be careful talking about cancer and pot. You might start a firestorm with the natives ;)

so Dubs do you eat them after dinner or with?

And how much trimmings are you using a couple grams?

Thanks I am looking into this, I went to make butter last week and burnt like 20 grams of trim on the new stove making butter :fire: and yes it was on like 3 out of 10 and 10 being the hottest

You have no idea how pissed off I was, now I know to use the crock pot for butter

It depends on how good the herb was the trimmings came from. In general with really good fresh trim off of some serious stuff you really only need an 1/8th for most people. As you eat more your tolerance for edibles sky rockets.

I'm up to about 3/8th for regular batch of brownies. That's not a lot but it's a lot for someone who doesn't eat their THC much.

I slowly saute my trim in veggie oil for 15min. If it starts to turn brown it's begin to "turn" or scorch. A typical batch of brownies calls for 2/3 cup of oil. I add a little extra oil for sauteing. The herb will suck up some. If you're really worried about mixing properly just use a half a cup of oil and strain when done. Add regular veggie oil to top off.

Don't add hot oil to a mix with eggs. It will cook them. Let it cool for about 5min or so.

I've never made brownies with less than 6 to 10 grams. Thats on my low side. You want at least 10 or more to really take off flying!!

Thanks guys I am looking more towards edibles than inhaling, the effects last wayyyy longer

And you can eat them anywhere
