Anyone plan on taking a trip to the desert?
What a MASSIVE fucking event! 100,000 patrons expected per day

I've always dreamed of driving through the states to end up in LV.. What a great excuse this would be :D

Not cheap though, cuz it's late to purchase I suppose, it's $500.00, yes I said $500 for 3 day VIP pass (access to bars etc.).. and $215 for General admission. And going from last year's line up from LA it's shaping up to have something for EVERYONE:

Deadmau5, Moby,ArmandVanHelden, Shy FX, SwedishHouseMafia, Basement Jaxx, Dada Life, Dieselboy, Kaskade, Infected Mushroom, Trvs & A-Trak, Evol intent, Dirty South, BT, Jack Beats, Xample, Chuckie, Z-Trip, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Congorock, 12th Planet, ArminVanBuuren, Groove Armanda, MSTRKRFT, Andy C:D, Above & Beyond, Sasha, Wolfgang Gartner, Friction, Benny Benassi and so on.. you get the picture.

Oh, if only time and $$$ were of zero importance I'd spell out 'fuck it' in the sand, hop in the Vdub leave my beloved country in the dust!

So.. Who's goin?

Puffer? Carpool?

:)

I've gone the past couple of years in LA.... I cant make it all the way out to vegas but i'm sure it'll be quite the party. Enjoy yourself. When you see a sea of 100,000 people and realize that that is only the main stage and there are more people outside the colesium than you feel like a part of something big. But on the other hand 100,000 could be considered a total cluster fuck and destroy the vibe. My advice to you is avoid the main stage at all costs, go on friday, and check out the attractions, less people better vibes and its a little quieter if you feel talkative.

Take it from Endanger... heat dehydration is no fun!

Thats exactly what i said when i heard it was moved to Vegas. The news makes a big deal of one girl dieing here in L.A. I cant imagine how many more deaths there are going to be in Vegas, not just from the drugs but just heat exhaustion itself. I think insomniac was thinking the same thing thats why they changed the time from the normal 2pm-2am to 8pm-7am but we all know that really doesn't help because at 2 am in Vegas its still like 90 degrees. so we'll see what happens.

Ah thats smart they moved the time slots up into the "wee" hours of the night, but as you said Vegas is still boiling at those hours. It's just a cheaper alternative for insomniac as getting zoning permits here in LA must be hell of expensive!

yea insomniac posted a statement saying that the city of LA couldn't guarantee them the event by the day they needed it so they had to move venues. The city of LA lost $33 million dollars in revenue by not allowing the event to take place this year.

thats exactly their point. its crazy that $33 million is just what the city makes, i wonder what insomniac makes:lol:

i know this may sound bad but imo, 1 death out of 200+k people isn't so bad for a event of its kind.

Exactly. I don't wish death upon nobody, but come on its not at fault with insomniac or the rave altogether! Stupid teenage kids got out of hand and stormed the gates to try to break in... its more at the faults of the sense less parents who let there kids attend...

Dude ... U know, we should go to Wemf .... I know you wanna see Andy C !!

:)
I know.. we should, we should :D That would be a weekend for the ages! Put me down for a tentative Yes! Oh fuck, can you imagine, Puff?
Have you been to any of the past wemfs? This would be my first.. Quite fitting actually, the return of wemf and my return to the party dancefloor  Haven't been in SUCH a long time.

I've watched some footage from last years show, and wowee, looks like one of those evangelical gatherings x20  Really though, I've never been to something so massive, and I hear you on both fronts, asdf. Being part of that crowd at its peak could be quite magical, while on the other hand attending when its less busy would obviously have great benefits too. To experience both would be the best of both worlds.

ill be there all 3 days. it should be amazing seeing the event goes from 8pm-7am
Oh boy, you lucky Duck! And all 3 days too! Have you been to the past events in LA? I wonder how the venue change will fair..

Good lord, I can only imagine Danja.. I've never been to the desert. The summers up here slaughter me sometimes, though I suppose it's the humidity that can get really bad.
So the decision to move venues was ultimately the couple of deaths? The coliseum wanted no part in it any longer? Was EDC an event you enjoyed to take in in the past?

EDIT: nvm the first question.. you kind fellows already filled in the spaces for me :D

Most certainly, EDC by far was the best ensemble of electronica to my ears!

The crowd, the music, the weather, and the insanity of it all brought tears of joy to my eyes ;)

Sorry to say I won't be attending the festivities in Vegas as I have a few booked private Desert parties to attend this July & August :D

...and by private I mean no security, no rules, HA :D

well i got a 3 day pass because everything else sold out in minutes but i dont think ill be attending Saturday. Id rather go to a club in Vegas and party there, i cant be around 18 year olds for 3 days straight.

yea ive been to past events out here, the set up is usually really amazing but i am guessing since its the first year in Vegas they are going to go all out and try to make it some amazing thing.
