electric smart meter readings

So I just looked out back at my smart meter and mine reads 10.7 and the other three tenants are 9.4 (I live in a 4plex) and this is when all lights are running and ac is since its hot so 1500watts in lights and prob another 500 in random fans n stuff for grow room...u guys think this would ever tip a landlord off?...I know do not grow in rental but im legal mmj patient in washington

You'll be fine... no worries... or maybe steal your power? When he reads the smart meter how close does he need to be? Or is the reading done electrically through the wires? Does anyone read it or is it transmitted? Just wondering... And what kind of device holds the 'smart meter' to the socket? The Saturday after they read the meter just go out in the dark, and cut the fuckin wire lock off all four units... Then take your meter and turn it over for one week... then next Saturday turn it back over... then, you will be saving 1/4th off your bill....just make sure you turn your main breaker off when you flip the meter...no load will be on socket... so no sparkie.... You'll be fine...

lmao and make sure you have a buddy there just in case you miss and get electrocuted and get stuck to the unit.. or you could just drill a small hole in the side and put a broom straw in there and stop the dial from spinning...or you could just pay the bill for growing your weed..

Broom straw... no, that would do damage to your meter....haaaaaaaaaaaaa....

I've pulled 'hundreds' of meters hundreds of times, when an old building, did not have a "Main" disconnect switch... just pull out the meter to shut off the power...

this only works on single phase 120/240 vac wiring meter...

Ha, before you laugh... do you remember Enron and how they were stealing your money when they were staging power outages so we'd all have to pay more?

Every day, day in and day out...The power companies produce 7-12% more power than they/we use. That extra 7-12% is wasted...

When the power companies tell you: "Save Energy" they don't mean it... save it, for who? It, the extra produced, just goes to waste.... why not use it for yourself? haahaha I don't but I encourage you to do it... If I bought an electric car, I would plug it in and use the power...for free forever... of course if I could afford an electric car, I'd probably be able to afford my electric bill.... lmao...

i am with ya hero. i too have pulled many meters and that $500 hurts the pocket when they catch ya,lol was doing a job and they cut off power to the house and i did the cutting of the tag and took out the tabs and didn't get back in time to put it back and got hit with a $500 fine. so back in the day my mom showed me how to drill the meter and stop the dial from spinning.. fucked up and forgot to remove it and got a $11 bill.. they weren't to happy so they sent a person to look at the reason my current was less then the taxes and charges they hit you with every month.. but it works.. my mom's had our power bill under $65 every month with 3 boys in a 2 bedroom 1 bath house.. gatta love the ol school days..

oh and you so right on the power wasted by all electric company's, only solar power can be saved in battery banks where they are supposed to store energy unlike turbines that just produce and can't be stored so all that waste we pay for ever month.. fuckin monopoly business..just wait i am going put a monopoly on the weed dept.. lmao.. i wish..

Why? It was an error from the installer. Has nothing to do with smart meter.

I have a smart meter installed at my house. I like it better because they can read it electronically and don't have to come to my yard. My grow AC is about 4 feet from my meter, so I am glad they don't have to read it and see my AC running when it is cold outside.

If you understand how electricity works and are you are conscious of your usage I don't know what the problem is. You should know how much electricity you are consuming. Any difference between what is being used and what is being charged for should be apparent.

So all in all as long as you aren't trying to out do yourself or the cartels and stay within reasonable range the smart meter isn't so bad?? Can they track energy usage in a particular room? What would raise concern?
