Electrical Problem Please Help!Flipped Breakers On and Off Ad Stll Nothing

hey there got an electrical problem that has me confused, i think the cause of this was an overloaed extension cord, i had my ac and heater on the same outlet, and i assume the heater was still on when the ac kicked in....

anyways long story short, power goes out in my 2 bedrooms bathroom and other outlets, pretty much half the house is powerless..... i go to the powe panel expecting to see breakers that have flipped to off and nothing like that is to be seen, so i switch all the 15 amp breaers to off and back to on and to my suprise it does nothing i do it again for the second time and same thing no power in half the house.... so what could have happended and what should i do now??

It would really suck if your wires in the wall popped before the breaker flipped. Depending on how much power you drew it could/can happen.

I'm not trying to be captain hindsight here! but you should've run an auxiliary panel for your grow, i mean, you could've burnt you're house to ashes. Now that this has happened do your self and your family a favor and get proper breakers, measure your garden capacity and install that panel!

If it's not a permanently blown breaker, or half the main breaker which are both easily replaceable, you could have what happened to me.

I found that when they ran the line in the attic to go to the back bedroom and bath there was a junction box with wire nuts in my attic where it t's off to the two rooms, and that junction overheated and lost contact just because of a wire nut. You have to have someone with a meter trace power from the breaker down the line. Technically you could do it yourself with just a lightbulb and homemade insulated probes of some sort, if you are capable enough to understand how not to shock yourself to death. Bathrooms often have those GFCI outlets too, and a DIY electrician could have piggybacked a room off that. They very easily trip and need to be reset so check, it's a breaker of it's own.

No, I know what you're saying, it's simple if you know what you're doing, but it's just as simple to kill yourself if you dont.

I would get an electrician in there, and tell them to setup a 30 amp circuit or something like that. Just tell them its for your aquarium room or something.

I know, bad joke. Often people aren't in a position to afford an electrician lately or can't let them in to a house that smells like pot. Just giving options.

yea is it possible trip half the main breaker?? its a 100 amp breaker it was andstill is on u think if i reset it everything could be fixed??? ohh and the place is old like 1950's​

umm i have a power board for my grow running on a 40 amp breaker ... yea maybe i should have connected the a/c to it but i did it from a normal outlet.... i mean lots of people have acs and they plug them into the wall are you going to tell them that they are endangering there family by plugging an ac into a wall outlet and that they should get a panel for the ac, cmon man a breaker will pop most often this time it didnt..

hmm well i hope thats not the case for my cuase there will be alot of work involved in tracing the wiring, i have an electrician i trust but best thing would be if i could quickly fix this myself

Same shit happened to me just now! If i am flipping the breaker and still nothing I can try replacing the breaker?? Anyone got a link to a good how-to?? Thanks

It's mega easy you just pull it out and put another in... thing is if wires are able to handle the extra capacity without setting on fire. I was talking in general like every grower with 2 lights or more should have their own breaker panel in the GR. It's convenient in many ways other than just keeping your house wiring safe and free of your garden's load
