that metal thing has nothing to do with ground.. nothing at all.. were does it ground to ,,,, no were
LF you came off like a dick. But even though the "Odds" are on MG side, I would also not gamble with my safety.

The metal thing (Tang) on the adapter IS used for grounding (if installed properly) and I Knew this and my creds are BBA, I now seriously question any ones certs that don't know the difference between a 3 prong adapter and a 3 prong grounding defeater.

LOLOLOL "middle screw of the outlet cove and screw the addapter in place so it don't fall out.. " priceless

Sorry MyGirls even though Legallyflying was rude, voliated TOS said bad words and I think killed a puppy.... he is right.

Wow, some people are in need of some serious re-education. The standard circuit is 15 amps. For a grow, maybe even 20 amps. It takes 0.05 amps to kill a healthy person if the unfortunate conditions are right... don't fux around. As far as the op's original question... buy a new timer. I bought one of those timed surge protectors. $20 worth every penny.

Yah those times power strips are cool. We have one for our bearded dragon. Has outlets for day...and outlets for night. This way at a certain time the day light will turn off while the night light turns on.

I am NOT an electrician nor do I understand everything about electricity ( like how in the hell my buddy turns two phase power into three phase power using a big electric motor) but I did manage to re-wire my entire 3 story house and it passed inspection and hasn't burned down.

There is a definite need for an electrical sticky but this thread is a terrific example of why I don't bother. As soon as you recommend how to do something, someone else is going to come out and say "you don't need to do that or I'm an electrician and..."
I mean really, there are still lots of people that think running 220 will cut your electric bill in half.

Hi New member :) first post long time browser , Qualifed A class electrician in AU for 8 years, Agree with kingofqueen 110%This thread scares me your timer is for a double insulated appliance that comes with a two pin lead, get a new timer! earth or ground wiring is essential when using a metal lamp shade especially in a wet area!!! while it will work fine without it, the earth wire is bonded to every exposed conductive part and is designed to carry any fault current directly to earth instead of through your body when u touch it! it takes 30mA to kill a person less if you have a weak heart, i am mailed details of every recorded electrical death in my country and trust me PEOPLE DIE DOIN THIS SHIT all the time!!! always because of live work, removed earths and incorrect polarity of lamp shades. SMOKE WEED NOT YOURSELF MATE
