electrical problem

Hi, iv been running a 1000w hps bulb in the basement. out of nowhere the outlet stopped working . i live in a house that is about 20 years old if that. I tried flipping the switches and the whole box but nothing happen. what do i do next?? please help.

it sounds like your outlet took a shit. You can get a tester for them to find out exactly. otherwise just buy a new outlet and replace it. make sure to replace with the right amp. outlet tho.. good luck

is this 120 or 240 volt ?

120.. other outlets in the room arnt working either. I went to check the breaker box and one breaker was half way flipped and really lose... I'd love to test if its working like turning a light one or whatever. but unfortunately the breaker my room runs off of is the Septic breaker ... hope i can flush my toilet

I have 2 extension cords connecting coming out of my room to my living room to have my room operate till tomorrow.... would it hurt if i came off of my 24/0 schedule and give her 8 hours of dark?... I just went to 24/0 like 5 days ago... lol darn my luck

Sounds like you have a bad breaker then if it won't reset. Be careful using an extension to power the light. I would only do this if the extension was a 12 or 14 guage. I would not use a 16. Do not put other things on the one dedicated to the light. No it wont hurt them to give them 8 hours. Shit happens. Just be careful changing the breaker. Make sure the main breaker is off when you do it.

yeah. Sounds like Gyroscope is right.. Especially if the breaker switch won't stay on.
