Electricity costs for grow op

I'm still considering the costs of electricity before starting an indoor grow. I understand that their are simple math equations to figure the monthly cost to run an operation, although it gets technical because of the billing charges at different rates based on Kilowatts used. This makes it difficult to obtain a solid estimate. I live in Nor Cal and the rates go something like .13, .26, .34, .47.

For those who are willing to share their electricity costs to run their operation, please mention size of grow, total watts, and if your comfortable, the state of residence. Also it would help to know amount of electricity normally consumed without the operation.

only posting this cause i got a fresh one in the mail today and its the worst one ive gotten so far and im pissed.. 4 thousand watt lights 12\12.. 2 ton mini split.. 70 pint dehumidifier, two 8 inch inline fans, 600 watts in veg. 33 days.. 1038 dollars... guessing total watts about 6500-7000. and this is with me living alone and having 13watt cfls switched out for every bulb. nothing ever gets left on.. electricity is fucking ridiculous.

Thanks for the info. This really helps since your operation is similar to my plan. Btw, how many sqft is your 4k watt?

If I was doing this alone in a place needing to fret about switching me reg lights to 13 watts I would be worried about other things then my bill....

All I know is a fully equiped 4x3x6 600w tent bumped my bill up 50-80 dependin on heat

care to elaborate?
Not much to elaborate =P
If legally growin that much there would/should be an income to easily surplus the bill.
On the contrary of legal and I was counting my wattage up to 4k watts and worrying about the adverse effects of another 100 or so on the ambient lights you may be at a point where you need to worry about overall wattage attraction instead of 100 or so extra. <3

that 13w cfls help with over wattage attraction.. and saving money.. i dont know if your familiar with the tier system but i bet i save a couple hundred bucks a month by having all 13wcfls. i dont make a lot of money, a couple hundred dollars is alot when your bill is so much as it is. and the electric company doesnt care about my expensive bill because i dont live in a shack and i pay my bill on time.

If you're poor and live in Cali, sign up for the CARE program through pg&e. $.12 / KwH all month long. No tiers. Easy math.

^ i live in socal so i been to sketched to sign for the care program. i dont think they take out the tier system here i just think its a 25% savings. i feel too bad to accept it.. and i just think that it would throw up a redflag... someone is too poor to pay full price for electric but its a grand? i just assume pay the full amount on time and keep good karma

Fuck the care program, I do have it though, but what saves me is my med life cost.I save over a $150, but I own a house, with a family of 4, so if that's poor, fuck it, I save on power.

Also tiers are tiers, I just get more tiers at a lower rate, and care is just 25% off, but everything helps.

Ain't no shame in my game.

I don't know my exact bill with my grow but last time I did the math it was about a 100$ per 1000 per month plus accessories. But the higher the tier the more you pay. When I did 4k it was pretty substantial and alittle outrageous, I think I'll go into a commercial area if I do anything over 4k at a residence again.
