Electricity saving "tip" curtousy of the Oprah show.

I got this tip off the Oprah show "I know I'm gay, lol". One girl on the show was showing how she split her electric bill in HALF each month just by unplugging anything that's not being used. Apparently when you shut off your electronics ect...it still uses a large amount of electricity all day long. So what she does is simply unplug anything that's not in use and makes her kids do the same. It takes time and discipline to do it, but it adds up huge, and the more things you plug into one power-bar makes it easier to just unplug the one plug each time.

So for anyone wanting to save or worried about consuming to much power with extra lighting should try this. I'm going to be doing it.

you watch oprah?
Listen, I already admitted I was gay in the post, to get that out of the way. :) No, but it's hard not to watch from time to time, it's on 200 channels all hours of the day.

Sounds interesting but....I'm too lazy to do that...lol
That's the problem most people will be, but that's why you plug in 10 things all on the same power bar so you just have to unplug the one plug in each area of the house.

that is a good idea, another one is if you dont need a big fridge then invest in a small one like you have in college dorm rooms, i personally dont need a huge fridge. Also kinda going along with what he said about the unplugging, thats for sure true, i try to not run anything except my grow room and my living room, the rest gets turned off but i havent been unplugging which im gonna start doing.

Yup, it's up too you if you want to save, if it's not a worry than you won't do it. If you got one power-bar in all your main rooms that you use the most it would take a matter of seconds, you just have to program yourself to make it a habit.

Well maybe I used the wrong word when I said I'm lazy, I don't have a problem doing what I feel is important or needs to be done, but doing shit that I don't fell is important like washing dishes is almost impossible. This is mostly when I have weed to smoke, if I run out of bud for longer than a week then I start looking for unimportant shit to do.

Another problem I have with this is having to reset the clocks on the TV, DVD, stove, microwave, and shit all the time which is mostly what I would be unplugging all the time.

I know the tele uses up alot of electricity. I only turn it on at night and if i feel sleepy i set the timer for 1 hr to shut her off. Same as my computer. Im trying to conserve the best i can.

Yes I have a cell phone lol, I give a shit about the DVD clcok because I record shit off the TV with it and for that I need the clock to be set right. I guess I don't really need to have the mic clock right but flashing 12:00 all the time annoys the shit out of me.
