Emergency move

Whats up guys? Had to move the plants officially due to bankers n what not always paying visits, now have them in a smaller closet. Beggining of week 2 in flower. The closet is about 2 feet deep and 3 feet wide. I have 4 decent sized bushes in there. Just wondering the cons of having such a crammed area.

Thanks bud! As of now heat and humidity havent been an issue. My main concern was light penetration thru the canopy, also if the space restrictions will keep the buds from fattening up

yea, good point. I actually have a plant in my garden thats has so much foliage that its causing the lower buds to be weaksauce. Tops are awesome tho. I may end up popping some foliage off to get some light down below.

cannabis is like anything else that is grown for harvest ..........
just clip the finished buds and leave the rest to mature ..........

The lower buds do not need light. If the canopy gets light it's enough.

Do yourselves a favor and read through this thread. VERY informative.

Here's a pic from a dude that did a side by side on another forum. The 3 plants on the left were grown naturally, and the 3 plants on the right were defoliated. The natural plants grew almost twice as much bud weight than the defoliated plants.
and therefore, is NOT an effective technique to increase either yield OR lower bud size.

Fan leaves are there to serve the plant and the buds, and their removal WILL have a negative impact on your plant. Period.

Defoliating is stupid. It works against the plant and lowers its ability to use the main source of energy.

People say, "the low leaves are not getting enough light." What?

You can see the leaves right? Then they have light bouncing off and much energy that they use.

Don't take leaves until the are about to fall off. The plant needs to reabsorb the sugars.

The plant can take as much light as we can give....within reason.

10,000 foot candles at sea level at the strong point of the afternoon, is Sunlight.

25" from a 1000w HPS is 10K foot candles and i go closer than that.

Those with side lights will do better than those with only top lights.

Do a side by side grow, put the lights at the top, don't trim a single leave off the one, shred the other to pieces.

Then have a look for yourself.

I would rather go with light only on top than taking any foliage off.

First time that choice was mentioned. It is a red herring.

Don't take the leaves. Let the plant drop them, sucked dry of sugars.

Not true. And I have done the experiments. The bottom blooms are late producers is all.

It has more to do with the rooting auxin homornes lower down in the plant, I imagine.

You can strip the top and let the bottom go for a few more weeks. This plant uses hormones as they all do, to produce fruit. This plant produces top fruit and bottom fruit, it is as simple as that.

No one with any skill will even try to compare the two. There is no way to turn popcorn into colas. ....as simple as that.

if i were u i would tape some canes at each corner of each plant then run a wire round to provide support for the branches that will enevitably get out of control...

I agree, my reply was more to butter face saying the top of the plant is all that needs light. If you want to trim half your plant and throw it back under the light for two weeks it will produce something on the lower branches, sure, but it still seems like you are trying to fix the problem of "the lower bud not getting enough light" . That's all I'm sayin, peace

the only thing that would sway me to defoliate some of the middle leaves would b the space u r working with by slightly def it would indeed b getting more light to more of the plant...only my 2 pence worth but imo the canes r a must....and some ov my middle buds were a lot better than just popcorn nugs....
