Hey,
Thanks for taking the time. I was changing the height of my light&stupidly did not check the top of it before i lowered it and i had something up there to level the light bc it leaned to the one side. Well, the piece of metal fell and dropped in the worst spot possible, not knocking a branch off but severing the main stalk of the plant. Its 90 percent severed. I duct taped it up but its not going to hold,i dont think at least. I thought if i lined it up perfectly it would work but i doubt it well, what do you guys think? I have rooting gel, Would I be better off by Cutting the last 10 percent of the branch, dip it in the gel&put it in the pod&hopeit grows roots or will that not work? It was severed straight through but the skin is holding keeping it attached to the plant.

Maybe make a splint for it. I like to use soft ties for fuckups like that, but lots of people use tape.

2nd make a splint and wrap with grafting tape or cling wrap if you have it will work put it back together and wrap it tightish. Don't touch it for at least a week or 2. You'll know if it takes or not in the first 2 days. It may wilt at lights on so you may want to dim your lights for a few days. If it wilts you can wrap a bag misted with water to rehydrate it. Make sure you remove the bag after a few hrs max.

I have a branch that was pretty well mangled by a fan that fell on it. I patched it up with some hockey tape and toothpicks for support and it turned out fine.

I had a huge branch fall on one of my Japanese Maples and split it in half, and busted all to pieces. I put ground cinnamon in the nasty busted up areas, stood it back up, tied it off, taped and caulked it. I even had to use a C clamp to attempt to get a bulging piece back in. Hope it takes. I think your plant is salvageable. BA68F011-058A-48D7-9676-B32BFB09BE60.jpeg
