bump bump bump.... hopefully now that I have clarified what I need someone can help? making a DIY cooltube today and a reflector would be a nice addition once the temps come down from adding the tube
for my cool tube i built a reflector from an 8" expanded air duct. the type you fit together yourself to make the pipe. i just spread it out to about 22" with 2 steel dowels to keep the metal arched. it's not perfect, but i can put 1000w 8-10" from the tops of my plants in a 4'x4' closet and cover em all.
nope, no stores anywhere near me otherwise thats what I'd do~can't u go to a local hydro shop and look that the wing with ur own eye i bet they will even let u measure it too in the store
most guys in these shops r good ppl just don't tell them ur mocking it for a diy
good luck
This is what you should aim for. By not having flat piece with a bend the hot spots are greatly reduced, if not eliminated. And because the contour is round you can manipulate it so the light can be either spread out more or concentrated. One place I worked in BC we made shades of all sorts of shapes and sizes and eliminating hot spots is alot of trial and error.
