When will you people realize that this government was bought and sold years ago? Every 4 years it is like picking between 2 piles of shit.

Edit: I was just guessing with the whole baby thing. I doubt a county hospital in East Oakland, South Central, The Bronx, South or West Chicago... (insert more ghetto places here) has that good of a survival rate for newborns. I'm also guessing that really nice parts of South Africa, Morocco... etc, have pretty good hospitals. That's all I was getting at.

I agree with kids being able to stay on their parents plan till 26. That's all I ever stated about these health care shenanigans, and that's all I will state. I personally couldn't afford insurance in college, the insurance they provided was fucking ridiculously expensive and not that good. Not to mention the tuition cost was more than I could make anyway. I had to work in Alaska in the summer for additional income. Don't get me wrong I loved the experience, driving through Canada was pretty fun too, but I don't want my kids to do what I did in my life. Hopefully they can have a better life than me.

Tuition is going up exponentially, it's fucking ridiculous. Student loans really blow, I'll be paying those off for a few more years... unless I join the army... awesome! And the economy blows taboot. Luckily there's a demand for algorithms based on human behavior and pseudo-code... or I'd be fucked.

As far as taxing is concerned, I don't really think that there's anything we can do to prevent new taxes. The powers that be, not the President fyi, want them there for one reason or another so they are there. Even Reagan, who I'm pretty sure vehemently opposed taxation, raised taxes a shit ton of times. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if it wasn't health care, it would have been something else. This package just happens to have something in it I agree with, so I'm not against it.

I'm more against lobbyists than anything else. You can literally buy the government and change laws to better suit you're own private interest. That's so cool! Lets buy congress and keep the same dickheads in power that have been there their whole lives, 'cause the average American is too fucking dumb to make an educated vote for congress. Just look at what happened to the Tea Party.

both sides argued that it wasn't a tax.

but the SCOTUS said it was. a rose by any other name comes to mind. i can give two shits less what they call it. i know how the new, constitutional health care law works.

someone like you, making $30k with 5 kids, will have all but free health care. you will be subsidized heavily. your kids will get free check ups, and you'll get a rebate if your insurer spends too much money on administrative bullshit rather than actual health care. and you won't have to worry about getting dropped while your kid is undergoing expensive treatments because they discovered he had a sore throat when he was 3 years old and decide to say you lied to them about a pre existing condition.

those making 4x poverty, i.e. a single person making $50k+ a year, will have to buy insurance or pay a fine to the tune of $700. the horror. heavens to betsy, whatever shall they do? it's tyranny! they should be able to push their costs onto you if they so choose.

and whiney pussies like non theist will get to stay on mommy and daddy's health care plan for another 12 years, and complain about it the whole time while not understanding how the law actually works.

the PPACA is garbage, but it's garbage in the right direction.
700 dollars is more than they gave us a few year back to stimulate the economy. It is a lot of money for people regardless if they are single, married or what ever. Either way I enjoy talking about this subject but I also know it will be repealed. Congress has a session set up for it after vacation week and it will wind up right back in court. If the Pres does not win the election Romney will make it his first thing. Should have worked on the budget instead of this issue. 4 years wasted. Too many lies in this admin, all the times he was telling us the military would not get their pay, lies, old people wont get ssi payments, lie, the Russian off camera comment, lies, fast and furious, lies, serious question, how can you trust this guy??? I am sure it is his advisors but he will get the blame.

I respect him for what he has acomplished in his life time, much more than me for sure, but time to go.

In my opinion this was just a big win for insurance, medical and pharmaceutical and a big fail for the nation. Insurance gets a government backed 50million new clients, medical always gets paid, pharma sells even more fucked up drugs.

a $700 tax penalty is only assessed on those making over 4 times the poverty level and not buying insurance. so if you make $50,000 a year, are single, and for some reason are stupid enough not to insure yourself in some way, you get a tax penalty of $700.

anyone making less than 4 times the poverty level is subsidized to buy insurance. can anyone here tell me about how much decent health insurance costs to buy? $700 or less is a bargain.

but let me guess, a bunch of righties who have told me that they do not understand nor have read the law are going to tell me they will take away your house, your car, your dog, your kids, garnish your wages and throw you in prison and deny you healthcare if you don't pay this unenforceable tax penalty :dunce:

i would like everyone who is making these wild, outlandish, borderline retarded claims to show me where in the law it says this is possible. not just fear monger, show me the text in the law. i can show you the text in the law that clearly dictates that none of these tin foil wet dreams can happen.

IRS will be collecting the tax and everyone knows about IRS laws, just ask Redd Foxx what happens with the IRS when you dont pay, oh wait he died broke and penniless.
At least we know the truth about Obamacare thanks to the Supreme Court, it really is a tax increase instead of the lies and crap they fed morons who actually believed them.
Amazing libtards are so morally depraved they think it is just fine to tell lies as long as they get there way.
Have you ever considered moving to Greece, you seem to have a lot in common.

morons? the morons here would be the ones who needed over two years and 9 wigs to tell them what was in the bill. the rest of us knew there was a tax penalty for those making over 4x poverty yet stupidly choosing not to protect themselves with insurance.

everyone else making less than 4x poverty will be subsidized. do you know what that word means? it means you will be afforded assistance in purchasing health insurance to protect your family's health and wealth.

in fact, everyone who has insurance will receive a rebate rather than a tax if your insurance provider spends too much on administrative costs rather than actual health treatment.

so many lies persist about this bill it is insane. if you need to make up lies about something, chances are you're not on solid ground.

now get back to copying and pasting chain mails and voting for rick perry, rollindud.

Buck, we are going to wind up paying for it, the Pres said in speach that we would be getting a rebate from the companies, you watch it will be like five dollars each.

He made some comment about bonus and over paid ceos, man, they make money for their companies that is why they got the bonus money. It is flat out socializm.

so you want people to profit off of your health care? cool story bro, i prefer that people not profit off of a basic human dignity like health care, but that's just me.

i mean, germany made all of its health providers be non profit, yet they all stayed in business and are highly competitive. how does that voodoo work? it's almost as if it is not in the best interests of the business to go out of business. imagine that!

i'm sorry that you think purchasing insurance from for profit insurers on the open market is socialism, that is a sign of some sort of traumatic head injury that has significantly affected your ability to comprehend what words mean and whatnot.

The only morons are the ones that think this isnt a tax and its not going to cost them... What do you think will happen when all the zillions out there with high blood pressure, diabetes and grossly obese get in the same insurance pool as you, you still think rates are gonna go down? That was prolly you I saw in Walmart riding in an electric scooter with an open bag of chips and a 44oz coke riding around loading up on chips and cookies with your food stamps.

there's only a tax penalty if you don't buy insurance, and that is only for those making 4x poverty.

do you honestly think someone making $50k a year is being smart to not insure themselves? risk all their savings, their home, everything because they don't want to spend $700 or so on basic insurance, but pass the costs onto everyone else instead?

you don't get it. we already ARE paying for the uninsured. kindly fuck off with your copy and pastes and rick perry texas republican logic, please.

a family of 5 making about $30k, let's see what the bill says.

poverty line for a family of 5 is $27,010. so a family of 5 on $30k is at 110% of poverty. at 110% of poverty, your maximum premium cost is going to be dick.

Winning Irish Beer Cupcakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup of Irish stout beer
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons bakingsoda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup sourcream
  • 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon Irish whiskey, or more to taste
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar, or more as needed
  • 3 tablespoons Irish cream liqueur (like as Baileys), or more to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line 24 muffin cups with paper liners.
  3. Bring Irish stout beer and 1 cup butter to a boil in a saucepan and set aside until butter has melted, stirring occasionally. Mix in cocoa powder until smooth.
  4. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a bowl until thoroughly combined.
  5. Beat eggs with sour cream in a large bowl with an electric mixer on low until well combined. Slowly beat in the beer mixture, then the flour mixture; beat until the batter is smooth.
  6. Divide batter between the prepared cupcake cups, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean, about 17 minutes.
  8. Cool the cupcakes completely. Cut cores out of the center of each cupcake with a sharp paring knife. Discard cores.
  9. Bring cream to a simmer in a saucepan over low heat; stir in bittersweet chocolate until melted.
  10. Mix in 2 tablespoons butter and Irish whiskey until butter is melted; let mixture cool to room temperature. Filling will thicken as it cools.
  11. Spoon the filling into the cored cupcakes.
  12. For frosting, whip 1/2 cup butter in a bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes.
  13. Set mixer to low speed and slowly beat in confectioners' sugar, 1 cup at a time, until frosting is smooth and spreadable. Beat in the Irish cream liqueur; adjust thickness of frosting with more confectioners' sugar if needed.
  14. Spread frosting on filled cupcakes.

so did I read that right its $992 for a family of 5?

so, if you make more than the "poverty level" then you can be "O-taxed" into paying an insurance company 3-10% of your gross income every year. some people cant afford a new expense that siphons away 3-10% of our gross income every year just to pad the pockets of insurance companies.

the machinations of this behemouth of a bill makes it into a snarled mess that takes teams of lawyers to shyster apart. your insistence that a wikipedia article is the authoritative analysis of record for obamacare then you have a serious mental defect.

failure to pay the "O-tax" will result in fees fines garnishment and prison. repeatedly insisting this is the single solitary fee that government imposes which they dont want to collect is patently retarded.

claiming anyone who is opposed to this legislative, and judicial fuckup of elephantine proportions is ignorant, brainwashed by fox news, a "teabagger" or a selfish depraved sociopath is just another example of leftists shitting all over any dissent.

Being uninsured in college was so cool, I really hope my future kids can experience that too while their college costs spiral out of control. Fuck this Obama care letting me keep em on till they're 26. They gotta live life dangerously, just like I did.
Why not take care of your own kids health insurance, don't you think blaming others who don't want to share in your kids cost is admitting you're a failure?

so what would you suggest as an alternative? getting health care for 5% of income at poverty level is a worthwhile expense.
