Equatorial and Tropical Climate Grow

Konichiwa everyone!
New grower here. Well, not really a grower yet..but after spending 3-4 months reading and getting ready to grow I have decided to start growing once I get my paycheck to purchase seeds.

I have a question though and would really like an answer because I've used google search way too many times and still the answers aren't clear enough for me. It's making me restless. Can't stop googling for even a day.

I live in Southeast Asia. Location of course, is classified.

It has a tropical rainforest climate. Temperature is min 23-26 degrees Celsius. Highest recorded is 31-34 degrees Celsius.
No seasons. Just one weather all year round.
Relative humidity is 70-80% but it varies from 90% in the morning and 60% in the afternoon and 100% on rainy days.
My grow is indoor but I leave a window open (living in an apartment, 10th story) hence the need for a thread like this. My friend has told me that I can't grow certain strains in my country.
I was wondering if any of the experts here have a recommended strain for me. I do have an air conditioner but it is $1 an hour in the morning (i think) so it's a no go. I have a fan blowing around (it's pretty windy already) for air circulation. I get really cold when I wake up.

Through all my google searches I have narrowed it down to a full Sativa to a Sativa dom strain. My friend has recommended Thai stick but I would really like to find something with a high yield, strong cerebral high (studies, gaming). I have a reason to believe that the horrible monkey poo smelling weed I get in my country is Thai Stick that has not been dried and cured. Just compressed into bricks and smuggled immediately. Lots of seeds that are broken and dead. Tastes bad, smoke smells really bad (like an unflushed toilet).

Will grow 12/12 from seed, soil and compost for growing medium, will have (5) plants surrounding a HPS 400w.

Thanks in advance.

Acapulco Gold- 12+ week flower time. Very tall plant or it can be. Very cerebral high. Taste great to the last hit. I would say its a medium experience strain to grow inside. Out side I would think it would grow good for you. Specially looking at the region it's native to. Seriously you'll probably go through several strains until you narrow down the strains you favor.

Thank you for your advice (your sig says you don't use it :P).
Favoring strains aren't important at the moment because I can't find the right strains to grow in my climate.
I was leaning towards Sour Diesel but I wanted to know what people think.
Sativa parents, equatorial, etc.

Also, I live 1 degree from the equator.

Awesome! Thanks! If I could grow outdoors it would be much better because it is so damn bright and sunny here but the sun doesn't really shine into my house but air circulation is not a problem.

You went a little overkill on the bumping haha. I'd say if you're doing an indoor you could just do an indica. Outdoor I would do sativa.

Thanks for replying, Red. I'm sorry I was desperate for an answer.
It's indoors but with the windows opened it would be an outdoor grow right? Except with artificial light?

Damn. I'm confused.

Any strain you could recommend?
Cerebral high (for studying and gaming) slowly descending to a knock out stone. I wanted to go with sour diesel but after googling I'm afraid the smell would be unbearable to my neighbours but they won't care about it and I live on the 10th story. The smell of diesel garnished with lemons might be a bit offensive..

I just harvested my first grow with just about the same specifications you are looking for in a stone, and I am in the Caribbean. So far, I've only smoked Shaman and Tangerine Dream, both of which are great for inspiring creativity, energy and general happiness (I have NO desire to feel brain dead and stupid which you're far more likely to get from an indica). Though I didn't have big problems growing TD, most say it's a bitch to grow. My next seed purchase is definitely going to be at least partially from Mandala Seeds. They have a really great reputation here on the forum, don't like a lot of nutrients, are disease/pest resistant, and many are sativas (or at least dominant). I'm flirting with their Beyond the Brain, 8 Miles High or Satori. TGA Seeds, which also has a very favorable rep here on the forum, has a couple of sativa varieties I'd like to try. Check out there Apollo 13 or Jack's Cleaner 2. Finally, I'm going to check out Ace Seeds Green Haze X Thai that also looks fantastic, especially considering it has genetics from your climate. ACE has a very favorable reputation as well. Wish I could tell you how these latter varieties smoke from experience, but you can find out about all of them in the seeds/strains reviews.

Hope this helps and especially hope you post your decision, grow and smoke results.

Thank you. I was thinking of Satori myself but they don't ship to my country and attitude doesn't use bank transfer. I don't really trust the stealth of other seed banks other than marijuana-seeds.nl. Have received seeds from them before. I failed at growing them because I didnt have the light. Sunlight doesn't shine in my house too.

Well my choices are:

Super silver haze (mostly sativa)

Sour diesel (sativa)

Bubblegum (45/55 sativa/indica)

Chrystal (40/60 Sativa/Indica)

Orange bud (100% skunk Sativa/indica mix)

Pick one..

I haven't tried any of those, but have had a strong hankering to try SSH and SD for the effects they promise. Orange Bud reviews on Leafly.com read well for both the high and the ease of grow. It has a long history which is always great promise but I would be (perhaps unfairly) reticent because it's indica dominant. SSH has been strongly endorsed for years, so I would guess it's a great yielder and easy to grow. Sour Diesel reviews are all great, but the smell is pungent enough to arouse suspicion.

Regarding seed banks, I had a very stealthy shipment from Seedsman, but they don't carry Mandala; also Sea of Seeds has a great rep and they give you a discount for being a member of RIU.

Order two and experiment. What you like you can clone and order the other two at a later date.

Check out the grow forums here on SSH. I think among sativas, it's easy to grow. What kind of indoor set up do you have? Are you going with store-bought nutes or maybe a super soil? I don't have any experience with indoor growing, but on my outdoor balcony grow, I used a super soil recipe that worked great.
