LOL, The biggest cola on there is gonna weigh in at 4-6 g., dry, MAYBE. Nowhere near an ounce, even wet. Look at it like this... it's your first grow, it didn't die and you're going to get something.

I'm not offended in the least. Maybe the picture isn't a good one. But my plant was a clone from a friend that grew it half as jgh with a yield of an ounce and a half. I've vegged mine longer and it is noticeably taller than his. Based off these conditions and circumstances coupled with the fact that he did soil and I have mine in a Dro setup I think it's only safe to assume a similar if not better result. But, like I said I will be chopping soon. I will post yield results here. :-)

No, it's not safe to assume that but hey, maybe wishful thinking will get you 3 ounces. Here's a 2.5 ft tall, 2 oz. plant, at 6-7 weeks. All those conditions mean nothing. While strain plays a roll, how you grow your plant will usually determine whether it reaches full potential.. 51714 002.JPG That has 2 mains, 8 off shoots and is far denser than your plant. The colas are also longer.

And this is skunk #1 which is a pretty good yielding strain. Lets say I don't get what I was hoping for yield wise. What can I do next time to increase the yield? More topping maybe? Lol, we all like to think higher numbers, just going by the pics posted, that plant looks no more than 20" from the base of the stalk, not many colas, looks like a 2-3 gal plastic pot(?). Yield will depend on how dense the nugs are, driven mainly by the strain. My last run I had a plant 3 times that size and pulled about 90g dry/cured so just going by that.

Looks good though, the main thing is you'll have something to smoke for your efforts :)

Yield boosters next round:
  • Bigger pot, ideally any of those fabric pots, even in the same size as a plastic pot the root system gets a ton of air and builds a stronger plant. Recently switched to these (Root Pouch) and will not switch back, amazing difference. I have a 3ft tall indica going right now that stretched like 100% (doubled) when I flipped it, in a 3Gal pot that would have been close to root bound by now in the same size plastic pot. Well worth the $2.50 or so for the fabric pot and re-usable for 3-4 runs.
  • Topping never hurts, give them time to heal/grow and top multiple times. I prefer FIM myself as it provides much the same benefits but stresses the plant less, they bounce back within days and grow out the FIM'd area. FIM'd the one sativa I have going 4 times and it's a bud machine.
  • LST, never hurts, easy, low stress, opens up the centre and allows those shoots to pop through the middle for additional yield

Those are just some basic/easy techniques, there's SCROG etc. but those take a little more work/maintenance than the above.

A wise person on RIU once said that you can estimate final weight as being about 20% of wet trimmed weight. I've found that calculation to be pretty accurate. Wishing never hurts, but I wouldn't count on a huge yield.

Thanks Poodlebud. I have like 12 plants in total. So I'm pretty sure I will do good where yield is concerned. I guess I was really just hoping for more. Oh well. Lol maybe next time
