Ethos Collective "Apex"..........

I run a 8x4 table with 45 plants, I totally do not have the capability to pick through that jungle for herms. I have Barney's Gorilla Zkittles and no herms from them. I am really bummed out I spent 300$ on Ethos seeds and now am afraid to run their stuff after my whole crop got contaminated and my yield is going to suffer. I can't find any info on the Citradelic or Sour OG Cheese herm potential so I guess I will just not take a chance. I don't have the time to flower one plant revert and then clone it. I guess I can try and run them outdoors but with the short season it might be a challenge for the Citradelic

There’s plenty of Ethos grows being posted around at different sites these days......the hermie issues are well known with some of their strains. Some it’s just an occasional male pod, others it’s full blown males within feminized plants. And it’s a safe bet anything from Barney’s would not turn out as good as Ethos’s stuff.

I knew they had herm issues with some of their strains, however as far as I knew Inzane was not supposed to be one of them. Oh well, live and learn. Their seeds are not suited to my growing style if they are going to herm which bums me out.

5 weeks finished, 5 more to go. Super sweet smell keeps building, reminds me a lot of "Green Poison" by Sweet Seeds that I did for a few years. That one was skunk based, this one is not. Everything is starting to bulk up, and the plants seem to lean more towards Lilac Diesel than the Mandarin Cookies, based on the colas that are forming. Also want to mention the incredible resin build up on the small leaves in the buds- if this is any indication of whats to come- this will be very nice.

Nope..........regular 1000 HP bulbs, but 2 of them covering about 8X10 ft. After 1 month, I raise the lights almost as high as they will go to avoid any burn/heat issues with the taller plants. Penetration is decent, but there's always plenty of lower stuff that gets thrown out for not being done enough. And remember, that's 24 plants packed into that space.

I've also cut back on the nitrogen, as things got a little leafy as they will normally do in my grows. I like my plants to be nice in green most of the way thru flowering. They'll yellow up some though the last 2 weeks when no fertilization is used.

Lastly, look at the 2 tallest plants in the room and you'll quickly notice the two pheno's. The tallest plant is the Mandarin pheno, the plant to it's right is the diesel pheno- big difference, huh?

Totally! I had two very different phenos from the Inzane too. I only kept one since it was the less tall of the bunch. Plus I topped them and LST. Here's a pic of the Inzane at day 42 from 3 days veg from clone.

You got some tacoing going on............you need more Cal/mag. Nice resin build up too.

Giving it full strength calmag already. The QB board lights I use, especially the 600-h is so intense in the middle where that plant is located it is likely causing that tacoing. Additionally I have 3 strains being fed off the same reservoir so I tend to go for a "happy medium" feeding stregth for all strains.

What do you consider full strength on the Cal/mag?...........a lot of people use 5ml per gallon, I'm often up between 8-10ml.

I'm in Hydo with only clay as a medium, and I go with a pure calmag EC of 0.5-0.6 usually for my base water. With 3 different strains sharing the same reservoir, 2 indica strains and one sativa, I have to choose an EC that will work for all strains on the table sharing the res. What does your 8-10ml put your base EC at?

I understand......I use ppm, not EC. At 10ml it definitely raises mine up a couple hundred points. I don’t necessarily worry about ppm numbers- I study the plants and just go up and down with everything based on how they look to me. Guess while growing multiple strains, you kind of have to average it all between the strains. I grow one thing at a time which makes it much easier to make decisions regarding fertilizers and such.

Here is a pic of the Barney's Gorilla Zkittles, hope you don't mind me posting it, it is on the same table and smells insane. Pretty happy with the quality of both strains, aside from the herm issue maybe making my buds smaller this round since they aren't seeded very heavily at all.. I also have Mango Saphire on the table, it doesn't produce much but I really like the smoke. I saw all your posts at the other forum when I was looking for info about my other Ethos stains, I was really hoping you had tried them :-)

I would be remiss if I didn't mention Nevil Shoenmakers passing from cancer. Nevil was a breeder extraordinare and was involved in early marijuana breeding over in Amsterdam in the 70's and 80's. He owned The Seed Bank and "The Castle" where tours were regularly held for visitors, to see plants growing and sample many of his strains (and buy seeds too of course).

Do yourself a favor and do a google search on him. An addict for many years, and an outlaw who hid out in Australia while authorities searched for him for years. He produced my all-time favorite strain, Northern Lights 5 X 2 (or NL 2 X 5, depending on who who ask). This was a strain that many of the Philadelphia Phillies often enjoyed (Tug McGraw was among them) thru my connections, and a strain people still talk to me about, some 30 years later now.

Also do a google search for a Seed Bank catalog, and you'll see many strains that became building blocks for many of today's strains. It's a sad day for the marijuana world.........please say a prayer for Nevil, for we ALL owe him the respect and admiration he deserves.

I did see Nevils death was caused by Hep 3, not cancer......presumably caught when he was shooting dope.

wow,
you sir definitely have your plants growing extremely well.
I am interested in the Ethos Genetics Mandarin Cookies R1 V2
I have some on the way and wondered if you might give some tips for new grower on growing that strain.
Running HGL 288-v-2 lmb lights, mega crop, kinda worried of screwing up as that's it for beans for me for a bit most i ever paid.
Have you smoked/clients etc smoked it? Which one is it in your grow?
sorry for all the questions

No problem...........the Mandarin Cookies they used in the Apex hybrid was #17. So most likely they had a room full of them and chose plant #17 for this hybrid. Mandarin Cookies, I have not grown out before this strain but I've read many great reviews on it......you'll be happy with it if you grow it well. I don't think any strain of theirs gets better reviews.

Regarding your grow, just ask any questions as you get started and I'm sure people will offer advice. Start a thread, and let us know and we'll pop in occasionally. My only initial comments would be to start with a very light fertilization rate, make sure you add some cal/mag with every watering and keep your pH in line with your grow medium.

Thanks, once I get my order, setting up new tent and equipment so might be a bit before I start the grow. I am just finishing off a run
so far so good learned a lot.

In the room today cleaning up, I don't think the weight in the room will be as high as I expected. Although Ethos lists the weight as "Beast Mode", I don't think it's a 2 lb. per light strain. I'm thinking there is about 3 lbs. total, but we'll see.

A pic from this morning, day 38 in flowering. Very nice resin content at this point.
