I've been monitoring the temp of where my colonization/fruiting will take place. It ranges from 66-73 degrees, does this mean i'll need an incubator, or is there a cheaper way outta that?

i just used two rubbermaid containers and a fully submersible fish tank heater..add water until the heater is well underwater..set the heater to 80 and theyre doing fine...i think i paid like 15 bucks for the heater.

Thanks for that man, I read that somewhere so I guess that is about as cheap as you can get it. Do you know if Sterno will work for sterilizing the needle?

I use a bic lighter, and a alcohol pad in combination, you could use anything that gets hot enough to clean it, but the alcohol lamp that sonar posted is pretty cheap man, jar of baby food and rubbing alcohol, is like 3 or 4 bucks

yep fully submersible. its got a light on it too.. the lights red if its heating the water to the degree you chose and it turns green when the water is that chosen temperature...pretty good choice on my part if i may say so myself.
