Examples of Democratic Party leadership

A solid metaphor. Taking it one step further, next to the asshole is the supporting cast of serious problem people like Justices Kavanaugh, Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas (and her husband) whom the billionaires: Crow, Leo, others unexposed — have given us Scrotus and the (!) taint of the big dark money in whose gravity well GOP is spiraling and threatening to take the whole country down the Constitutional event horizon.
Make America ungovernable, if the democrats are in charge.

If the democrats win in November, they can not only make laws ensuring women's rights, but they can also, make it a crime to conspire to remove a woman's basic human rights and should. Maybe Leo can just steal all the money that he has to play with over abortion. A hattrick win by the democrats would reduce the importance of the SCOTUS with clear laws, or they will corner them. They are cornered now with Trump's disqualification IMO, originalism has its price sometimes.

Meanwhile Donald is franticly trying to crash the economy, stop immigration legislation and block Ukrainian funding and has control over the GOP house, more or less. All in an effort to make Biden look bad and on the economy the press seems to be determined to help him, or many white Americans aren't really voting on policy, the economy or other things that make common sense, they are voting for another reason. Surveys have found 2/3 of people are happy with their personal economy and for them things are looking up, yet...

Lack of coherent industrial policy in light of obvious technological trends mostly caused by republicans over decades and Trump was a disaster for any kind of plan, including his own. America is facing a sputnik moment with China a real one, not an imagined one and they won't meet it by fucking with schools and burning books. There is competition out there and they have a stranglehold on batteries, solar panels and EVs, they wanted free trade, now well they've got it, in their faces. America no longer has the luxury of Trump and racism impeding progress, the world is moving on while America stares at its own asshole, Trump.

This is because of Biden in spite of what he is dealing with, he is trying to meet the challenge at least.

The basis of MAGA is the idea that black and brown people have favored status of white people. It's not an economic grievance, it's one of fear and protecting the white race.

Comparing common backgrounds of people who participated in and were arrested for storming the Capitol Building, this theory is the one common factor among them, that and the willingness to take violent action to counter the perceived. Also common among those who acted out on Jan 6 is that they mainly came from Democratic Party-controlled cities and states. Participants were mainly urban, well off, white (90%) and male (83%). They are driven by grievance and fear of something that doesn't exist except in their own minds.

Simply put, the conspiracy theory says there’s a plot to diminish the influence of white people.
Believers say this goal is being achieved both through the immigration of nonwhite people into societies that have largely been dominated by white people, as well as through simple demographics, with white people having lower birth rates than other populations.

There is no rhyme or reason to this conspiracy theory, other than the experience of middle and upper middle class white people feeling that civil rights laws, affirmative action and failure to put an end to immigration of brown people into the US is somehow taking away their rights and freedom. As of Jan 6, 2020, out of tens of millions of white people who feel this way, only a few thousand were prone to take violence actions. Given that they already hold favorable status in the US, there is little that can be done to address their grievance.

We are simply going to have to band together, the ones who aren't like them and work like hell to keep them from taking our democracy down. There is no other way.

Joe is trying to sooth them, reduce the fear level in society that amplifies it. The republicans are blocking industrial policy that will benefit farmers in their own mid west states (see my post), screwing their own voters FFS and Trump's tariffs screwed them a few years ago. Obviously, they have another "cause", one they are willing to sacrifice for, and the first sacrifice is common sense.

Joe is doing nothing of the sort. Any attempt to "soothe" MAGA is seen as weakness and contemptable. Biden is a compromise that center left democrats are willing to make in order to give independents who are loyal to US democracy an acceptable choice instead of not voting at all or worse, not voting at all.

I said it before and I felt like you weren't listening. I'll say it again. MAGA have zero motivation to vote for aid to Ukraine and have tied it to border policy. On border policies GOP are making demands that Biden can't accept because if implemented, they would make the border ungovernable. It's win-win for GOP. They will act as though it's Biden's fault that Ukraine funding could not get done while running on some mythical open border that's causing a mythical crisis due to illegal immigration. In both cases, they have reasons to obstruct funding that fit their objectives.

They are failures when it comes to governing but might succeed politically using these tactics. I think it's quite possible and maybe likely that US's contributions to Ukraine's war effort will go unfunded this year. Because Biden's "open border"

When I say sooth, I mean independents who lean right by keeping to the middle of the road and directing a lot of his industrial policy at red states. You cut the extremist off by appealing to the broad middle and there are few to no extremists on the left. He had Susan Rice working on domestic policy and she took a deep dive and I suspect came up with the current strategy. There are indications that Joe leads by a lot among voters 65 and over, for them age is not that big an issue, at least it was that way in a recent Pa. poll. We will see, if anybody can deal with these assholes in the house it is Joe and the democratic team, they have a lot of talent on their bench.

I will say this, for a political party heading into an election, the republicans have a host of issues, any one of which would make them unelectable, save for the entitled elephant in the room of white America. Trump has even more issues and he is the cause of many of their issues!

Biden finally admits the border isn't secure. He says he just needs more money. Ya, more money to make it easier to process more illegals into the US.
If he and the democrats win in November pardons for all, green cards and jobs, they are desperately needed by businesses all over American. If they check out, Joe can grant them citizenship, just like Reagan did with Rupert Murdoch!

With immigration reform, problem solved, see how easy it is?

Yeah, that's not at all true and a quick search on the interwebs would show you that. Showing clips from fox, thinking it helps prove anything?

JANUARY 5, 2023 Presidential Remarks on Border Security
“The actions we are announcing today will make things better ... but will not fix the border problem completely,” said President Biden as he outlined new border security enhancements. He announced new enforcement measures to secure the border, highlighting an expansion of a previous program allowing for an additional 30,000 migrants per month from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, and Nicaragua who follow U.S. law while seeking asylum. The president also touched on a plan to expel migrants from illegally entering the country who do not abide by U.S. immigration laws which will permanently ban them from seeking asylum in the future.

History

Launched in June 2021, GB News is a conservative-leaning TV News station based in the United Kingdom. They set up the station to compete with News Corp-owned Sky Newsand model the popular USA-based Fox News Channel. The website offers an editorial charter, lacking transparency as they do not disclose their conservative bias. GB News also lacks transparency as they do not indicate ownership.

Upon launching the station, some advertisers such as IKEA pulled ads due to GB News not upholding “humanistic values.” Many other advertisers joined the boycott, which can be seen here.

Read our profile on UK media and government.

Funded by / Ownership
GB News lacks transparency as they do not disclose ownership. A search reveals that London-based ALL Perspectives Ltd owns GB News. According to Reuters, the television channel “secured millions of dollars from investors such as Discovery Inc, Legatum and hedge fund manager Paul Marshall. Advertising generates revenue.

Analysis / Bias
GB News features significant opinion programming from a right-leaning perspective. Notable commentators are former leader of the conservative United Kingdom Independence Party Nigel Farage, former Brexit Party member Alexandra Phillips and former editor of The Sun newspaper Dan Wooten. The website features news reporting that uses moderately loaded language but is reasonably balanced such as this The Prime Minister admitted he has known about the UK haulage problems for months. This story is sourced correctly through direct quotes, while other stories are sourced through hyperlinks to usually credible sources such as the BBC.

Editorially, the news is reported with reasonable balance; however, we calculated that more stories favor the right such as this ‘Previous generations of Labour leaders, activists and voters would look in dismay at what Labour has become,’ says Oliver Dowden. The website features opinion pieces under the “GB Views” tag, demonstrating significant right-leaning bias.

Many opinion stories oppose cancel culture and are often critical of the so-called “woke” movement Nana Akua on ‘ridiculous’ number of gender pronouns. Op-eds also display negative views toward immigration, such as this Patrick Christys: There’s a magic money tree for illegal immigration, but not for social care. Finally, they frequently make false and misleading claims regarding Covid-19 and vaccines; see failed fact checks below. In general, GB News reports news mixed factually, while editorial views align strongly with the right.

Failed Fact Checks
Overall, we rate GB News Right Biased and Questionable based on a lack of transparency with ownership and funding, numerous failed fact checks, and the promotion of conspiracy theories and pseudoscience. (D. Van Zandt 10/4/2021) Updated (07/24/2023)

would you at least stick to posting links to right-center biased and mostly factual?

As it is, it feels like you are just arguing and posting material that agrees with your position rather than provide factual, honest information.

The link you posted, for example. It was just another fact free character assassination and didn't even attempt to provide information. It contained a carefully selected tweet that was intended to mock instead of inform.

Is that your idea of a political discussion? Did we make you angry because we are replying to your cherry picked fact free character assassinations with the truth?

Starting around 2:30 into the video they discuss the bumbling speech seriously. This is from The Hill which is slightly left leaning.
Do you realize how many Trump screw up videos that could be posted to answer? A lot worse than Joe, Trump thinks he's running against Obama half the time FFS

Joe has a lifelong stuttering problem that he largely overcame and even helps people with the same issue, it's not senility, it just a stuttering issue, the pauses are so he can keep on track, his mind is sharp as a tack.

"Oh Earth Rider thanks for the Great Lakes" - Biden

Sounds like some pretty good beer to me, with now an excellent marketing opportunity.

Of course he's too old. If it were Biden vs a younger Biden then younger Biden would win.......

Science says it's a close call but Trump will probably die before Biden. Both barely have a 75% to survive the next 4-5 years. Which makes them both, way too frigging old. Considering what's at stake, it'll have to do.

Next one (2028) will be only 71 years old.

Joe looks like he has another 4 in him and if he dies in harness or has to retire, there is the VP. His task is almost complete, he restored the country and got an industrial policy through that will give them and their allies a chance in the next decade, China is not coming, it has already arrived. The EU might bitch about the incentives luring businesses away, but it is required for energy security and long-term prospects in chips, solar and batteries. The world is changing rapidly and radically, and geopolitics will follow energy, energy is power. America can't afford to fuck around, the world is moving on, it applies to everybody.

Unlike Trump, Biden probably is availing himself of the medical help and his health is probably monitored closely and he follows the lifestyle advice of professionals. At that age it's a pretty individual thing and he could keep going until he's 90, if he is healthy now. The main thing is his administration and policies, he apparently is smart enough. Getting elected again with a democratic congress is the goal and if he gets that, he can really roll, his administration is not tired and without ideas, stagnant, quite the opposite.
